Maybe see if there is any one else out their that has cracks but with standard suspension will help your cause if they use this excuse ?? Be prepared so you can fire back straight away at them........Cheers Steve150 D4D GX with big tyres, TPMS, Tracklander, GME, Safari breathing straw & super soft squishy custom rear springs.

I've got a mate who use to work for Sargents Vehicle Hire and he showed me a few pics of a Prado that had about 70k on the clock and lived out west most of its life.... The main battery was basically floating in mid air as it had virtually cracked all the way around. Unfortuately from the pics u can't tell if it was in std form or not. I'll see if I can find out from him but I would assume that it probably would have a bar fitted to itcheers..... Rob (macca)

Yeah many of the renters are fitted with aftermarket bars. One of the cars I mention had a compressor fitted to the RHS battery bay and it had busted out of it's holes. Might have been let to vibrate loose & neglected though.150 D4D GX with big tyres, TPMS, Tracklander, GME, Safari breathing straw & super soft squishy custom rear springs.

My 90 series suffered minor cracked inner
guards so would expect the same on the 150.
As stated previously this should only
happen under prolonged extreme conditions
over a number of years. Mine was fully
equipped with steel bull bar dual batteries etc. Like
most things be aware of it and if it does occur, the fix is not
such a big deal.
One thing is I think given all the worry
about this, the inherent chassis of the Prado
is very solid - I can vouch for that recently.

I could understand cracks developing after years of driving, etc. That I could except, but not what's been reported with the 150 series. I had plans of replacing my N70 battery with a smaller one but now I'm rethinking that idea and leaning more towards installing one in the rear, but only when on trips. For the rest of the time I'll rely on the existing but with the help of a Enerdrive Low Battery Cutout (LBC) 12v-80amp to hopefully prevent a flat battery where I can't start my carcheers.....
