Ive spent a fair bit of time looking into Dual Battery Meters and all of them have either been horrifically overpriced or just plain ugly. Instead I went to Jaycar and raided the parts bin and made this for less than $30.
Here is the basic supplies needed:
* 1x 2 way Switch (to switch positive feeds from both batteries)
* 1x Jaycar Digital Voltage Gauge
* 2x Fuse Holders
* 2x 0.5 Amp Fuse Holders
* 3-4 metres (approx) of 1.5mm Positive and Negative stranded wire.
The final look:
Whats involved:
Pretty simple, run a positive and negative feed from 1 battery, and a positive feed from the second battery. Connect either positive wires to the outside poles of the switch. Connect the middle pole of the switch to the positive input of the volt meter, and the negative run from one battery to the negative input for the volt meter.
I used a piece of really strong bunnings double sided tape to hold the volt metre to the dash and it works a treat. Enjoy!!!
