Reverse wire dash location for GX

Before I get slammed....yes I have tried searching the forum to no avail.

Installed the satnav and reversing camera today but cannot for the life of me locate a wire inside/under the dash which has 12v when reverse is selected.
I have a manual diesel.
There is a weird wire which looks like it was an afterthought by the factory which is purple with a white stripe that goes to a single connector along with a red white and black wire. From reading other threads this seems to be the camera wiring perhaps for an aftermarket dealer install but no help to me as I actually need the switched wire.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I went out to the Polaris workshop last week to sort out a couple of issues with my unit and have them finish wiring up the reverse camera. The tech there pulled off the front passenger side scuff plate and hooked into the loom under there. Although I was watching from the workshop doorway, I didn't ask him so I can only assume that this was what he was doing.

Thanks Dobbo and you are quite right.
A search and download from the http://www.toyota-tech.eu website confirmed that there is a red wire connected to connector G107 located near the left side kick panel. This is a 22 pin blue connector. There were only a couple of wire coming from this but pin 8 was the red wire I needed. I quick check with the multimeter confirmed 12v when reverse is selected. YAY!
I hooked this up to the back of the sat nav and all worked perfectly.

Hopefully this info help someone else out one day. It wasn't easy to take a pic under there but here they are and might help

I just finished fitting a replacement double din head unit to her 2010 GX and this thread saved me heaps of work.

Got a cheap ebay unit and fitted it up including a camera and mount.
Took all day but well worth it ( sounds great)
But being ebay the camera is reversed left to right, ( got me stuffed) still useable though.
Has digital tv and gps ipod iphone connectivity.

Gotta love the 150 too!
We test drove nissans, mitsubishis but as soon as she drove the 150 the choice was made.

Which unit did you get? Did it come with a camera and how did you run the wires from the rear door??
Wanting to put a unit with reverse camera in.
Maybe your camera is in upside down, this would maybe make it look reversed no??

Keen on my info on the model and type of unit and camera, even a right up would be great if you had time. Very keen on doing something the same on my GX.

where exactly is this plug, is it under the glovebox i only looked in the kick pannel last night
