Well the progress has been pretty slow with the starting of the mods, most have been fairly minor so far, but over the last couple of months here are the things i have done,

Installed a sandgrabba cargo matt, which is a great of gear and keep all of my grubby gear in the rear from dirtying the carpet!! I have also brought and installed a scan guage II to give me a better indication of how the engine is going at any moment which is great

I had installed some 240 blitz spotties but wernt overly impressed with the output so i just replaced them with 2x quattro elite 70w spotties with one spot one spread, wow what a differenc these have made!!
I have also brought a new GME TX3540 but it arrived DOA so i am waiting on my new replacement to arrive, i also have brought front and rear sandgrabba floor mats which should be here this week. I also purchased a HEMA HNI5 offroad gps which from what i have used of it, it is a great bit of gear!

When i get home tomorrow i will be adding a pair of max trax for recovery as i don’t have a winch as yet. Also i am looking into fitting an alloy roof rack
I also have put an order in and just paid for a set of AMTS’s bash plates which i cant wait to put on and am also waiting oh so paitently for a pair of AJ120’s sliders, but these look like i wont get these until next year from the size of the list Andrew has lol!!

Future mods to come, put a new set of tyres on, 2” lift (still tossing up what combo) rear drawers , replace the bulbar with a steel arb deluxe bar colour coded white, fit a 3” exhaust, still waiting on some quotes, Get the whole car tinted darker, and then the list probably still wont end lol.

This is how she was when i first got her home,

    littile bit of playing

    The new Quattro elite 2100's

Great start to the build up Craig.
Would suggest a good compressor as a must have item on that already growing accessories list.
    Keep the mods rolling.

Today was a fun day (it always is when spending money lol)

Today my new sandgrabba front and rear mats arrived, they fit great, well worth the money i think.

Also i got my bithday pressie early, after shopping around at ARB, TJM BCF and none were to interested in knocking to much cash off the price, i happened to ring Supercheap and they had the Maxtrax on sale for $268!! so ran in and grabbed a set.. should be great for this weekend's camping, a little bit more insurance :-)

Tomorrow is going to be fun the bus goes in for her new tyres, ended up getting 5 new BFG AT ko's for $345/ tyre!! bloody stoked :-)

        Enjoy :-)

              New Shoes!!

              Thanks NTP getting there :-)

Today i actually got the girl in earlier than expected for her new shoes,

Wish i was able to go 265 70 r17 but sadly her in qld its not allowed :-(, but i must say im still happy with the result, 5 new BFG 265 65 r17's fitted, make her look a little tougher now, road noise is a little more than the grandtreks, but not to bad, got them to chuck my grandtreks in the back as i will try and sell them as they have plenty of tred left.

I had my Uhf turn back up from the suppliers this morning so after packing the car for our camping trip this weekend i decided to get stuck into installing it, I had already mounted the antenna, but wasnt happy where i ran the coax from the antenna into the engine bay, so after pulling it all back out i proceeded to find a better and cleaner way of running the coax.
I then remembered that one other PP member had drilled a hole in the plastic cover that goes over the left hand upight, i proceeded to unscrew this cover and then find the spot in the top of the bullbar for me to drill, i found a spot whuch was nice and hidden behind the plastic and then jumped underneath and drilled from the bottom, not enought room to drill from the top with the headlights and the upright in the way.

I then fed the coax through the two new holes and ran it though into the engine bay via the cut out where the LH headlight sits then along the LH side of the car thought the gromet into the inside of the cabin, i had also dropped the glovebox out for ease of installation which made running the coax a bit easier, i ran the coax to the centre console down the LH side of the plastic where the centre cosole is to keep it all hidden.

                  to be continued

After searching around for a suitable spot for where I wanted to mount the UHF body i decided for the moment to use some heavy duty velcro and stick it to the floor under the passanger seat, its nice and hidden, and im able to still hear the uhf very easily.

I tapped into the 12v socked in the centre console, soldered the wired together and attached the earth wire to one of the plate bolts surrounding the gearstick,
I also wanting to not drill into any plastics if i dindnt have to, i did have a spare blank which had a hole in it from when i had an old switch though it for the helas, i used that and cut the sides out to fit the coax though then with the adaptor for the candpiece cable and extension cable i filed out just enough for the cable to fir though, connected the extension cable to the addaptor and then pushed the blank back into place

looks good and if i remove the handpiece not much really shows that i have a uhf besides the antenna,

i then screwed the handpiece bracket to the big square blank next to the steering column re attached all the plastics, gave the car a good amouroial and she was all done.

All in all very happy with the non cluttered look and i like having most things hidden.

Hey Ghost, I am keeping a close eye on your mods as they very close to what I want to do.

I have question about the Quattro Elites, they seem to fit well on the soverign bar. I have been doing some research and they appear to fit the bill. Personally I was going to go for the 35w as I havent priced the 55 or 70w up.

Do you recommend them, and if you dont mind what is the price range of the 70w.

                          Cheers

                            Hi whited4d,

No worries glad to help in any way :-), the quattros are an awesome light! I brought mine direct from the dealers as we don't have a stockist here, they are a very professional team from my dealings and more than happy to help with all of your questions, whislt speaking to them, they said the if you are stepping up from 100w halogen to a 35w hid you will be blown away by the difference, 55w are again better with a longer beam and the 70w are the ducks guts! The only issue I have found is they are a pain to fit to the sov bar, which I didn't know until they arrived, the mounting base is wide and flat which is impossible to fit into the cut outs that the sov bar have in it, also if you do manage to fassion another mounting device it will foul with your grill, I have had to drill a couple of new holes closer to the front of the bull bar, and then make up a wedge to re angle the lights because of the angle of the front of the sov bar, I'm not overly fussed with this issue, Just took a bit of mucking around to get it right, it still ever so slightly fouls with the grill when opening the bonnet but only very slightly, the quality of the light is fantastic, the wiring harness is about as easy as it comes, and well worth the money in my books, I ended up paying 649/ light plus 15 postage, which was shipped by AAE so I got the lights the next day :-),

                              Thanks Ghost

More decision more $$$, but I think that I will decide between the 35 or 55 as I have never had spotties so the difference should be massive. ANd the difference in $$ might be the cargo barrier & snorkel....

                              Cheers
