I've ordered a stack of 36 SMD panels, including a couple of spares, so will try and get 2 of them mounted in the cabin lights, as there seems to be enough space on each side of the switch area to accommodate a panel.
I'm not afraid of the dark, just don't like seeing wasted space that could be used for useful things!

AMTS! Thank you for all the information! It has helped me out so much!
With the centre dome and rear cargo did you get Warm, Day White etc?
I know i saw some people complaining that the warm white wasnt bright enough just wanted to clarify which you got and if you were happy with?
This is the link i am looking at and has options:
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Car-Inter...ht_9526wt_1238
48 PCS 1210 SMD Day White
48 PCS 1210 SMD Blue
48 PCS 1210 SMD Warm White
48 PCS 5050 SMD Day White
Which panels did peopel choose/prefer?
Thanks!Last edited by Joolian; 05-09-2013, 02:52 PM.

Just installed mine today from http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/141036543...84.m1439.l2649
All I can say is fantastic mod, up there if not better than the hilux washer jets. Just used a very thin putty knife, all the lenses popped out easily. Hardest part is the two front map lights. Long nose pliers help to open the bracket. The set came with all the LED adaptor connections so just clicked the 4 LED boards in there.
Map lights (before on left LED on right).
I used white electrical tape to cover the wire but no need. Instead just stuck the plastic connector in-between the metal reflector lens (fits perfectly) and tucked away the wire. This stops it pushing the LED board/panel out. The supplied backing tape then went against @ a third of the plastic. Fits nicely, not lying on lens. First shot looks a bit messy, just removed white tape and moved wires around so no wires can be now seen. Last two pics : RHS light without plastic lens and with!
Fantastic light. Very first pic shows it a bit bluey but must have been the camera. Far better than the old halogens.Last edited by macaroon1; 04-01-2014, 05:34 PM.[SIZE=1]03 TD 120 Grande, L&R weathershields, f&r deflectors, Sov bar Amts rad b.pl, TJM front B.P, Uniden UH7760NB Kaymar LED worklight, ARB 47l, lifestyle rack & Milford C. Middle light: Like in the pic no 3, just used blu-tac to give the connector a home so the wires are all pinned back and allows the backing tape to stick to a lot of the plastic frame. Connector was the same as in pic 3.
Cargo light:
IMHO, a 15/16 board/panel for the maps and 48 board for cargo and middle dome is ideal. Just got to do the doors now. This set did not allow for this..... Understandable...ThanksLast edited by macaroon1; 04-01-2014, 05:33 PM.[SIZE=1]03 TD 120 Grande, L&R weathershields, f&r deflectors, Sov bar Amts rad b.pl, TJM front B.P, Uniden UH7760NB Kaymar LED worklight, ARB 47l, lifestyle rack & Milford C. Viz a Viz #70 (door courtesy lights) what a pain those clips are. Carried out instructions like the post mentioned (pried from the front but still lost two clips). Just done P.Side. Off to Repco to get a telescopic magnet and reassess the driver side. Double sided mounting tape will work if you stuff it into the clip mounting plate though!!
Bought Amts option 4 (door lights only). Only done 2, fantastic light, was getting blinded putting them back in. Makes the car look some much more modern?? Hated that dull dark yellow light, truly awful..no more halogens for me!!
Edit: when you pry the lights out (clip side) you will have to mind yourself that the clips WILL fall back into the trim. Easy way to recover is just to pop the trim clips from the lower bottom trim and the clip always falls out. No need to undo all the retaining screws. All changed, fantastic light.Last edited by macaroon1; 18-01-2014, 05:00 PM.[SIZE=1]03 TD 120 Grande, L&R weathershields, f&r deflectors, Sov bar Amts rad b.pl, TJM front B.P, Uniden UH7760NB Kaymar LED worklight, ARB 47l, lifestyle rack & Milford C. Yea I love the led upgrades. Makes a big diff. I'm only running 24 led panels in the middle and cargo, instead of 48 Plenty bright enough
Also these are awesome reversing lights
I'm in the car park at camp which has flood lights all over it, so this pic doesn't do them justice

I have read and re-read this thread and love it.
Andrew the ebay link no longer works and I can't quite make out which LED's you ended up with for your doors.
4. But these 3W ones are totally awesome at maybe 3 times brighter.

I put my 48pc 1210 daylight LEDs in the centre and rear lights. They are a lot brighter and cost under $3 each. They are mildly warm on the translucent light cover but shouldn't be a problem.
Honestly it's not worth buying the led "kits" when they are so cheap to buy separately. Now I'm just waiting for the T10 LEDs to arrive to change the front lights.

LED inside lights
I have just replaced the cargo roof light and the main roof light with LED. Easy to obtain from Jaycar.
However, I can't find anyone who can replace the map reading light bulbs with a LED equivalent which will fit.
Has anyone out there found a supplier?Terry
