  • 2011 GTG Recce 6 Pt 2

Next stop, the Kenilworth Pub for a steak sandwich lunch and a visit to the Kenilworthcheese factory for some of their wonderful fare.

We put thetents up at Charlie Morelands only to find out that this site must bepre-booked either on the internet or via phone, there isn’t any mobile servicehere either. Details are on the 2011 GTG website, if you are staying hereplease ensure that you book.

We decidedon a short drive before beer o’clock along Sunday Creek. This probablyqualified as one of those interesting side tracks as after 2 hours, about 10creek crossings, going up from 200mts elevation to 600mts elevation on a claytrack, and then through a rather narrow track complete with custom pin stripingdevices (Lantana), back to the track we had travelled earlier in the day.

Dinner was alaid back affair around the fire, complete with visiting possums andbandicoots. Next morning was entertaining with Fozzy and a Scrub Turkey havingseveral discussions over Fozzy’s muesli then his crackers, the Scrub Turkeywon.

Then offdown Booloumba Ck Rd, Funnel Hut Rd, Sunday Ck Rd, Buffalo Track, Middle Rd,Plank Bridge Rd (there’s no plank bridge though), Ten Mile Rd, don’t you justlove the names, we ended in Kilcoy for a pie for lunch. These roads again arereasonable gravel roads, camper trailers owners however would need to beexperienced as the roads are narrow and steep in some places.

With theweekend drawing to a close Snaga suggested that we take a short trip throughthe Mt Mee forest, again we seemed to find a couple of the interesting sidetracks and two hours later emerged from the forest at Dayboro.

So folks, there’s a review of the massive amounts of hard work we go through on Recce’sfor the 2011 GTG to ensure you have a great time, all we have to do now is stopgrinning from ear to ear after the weekends
    .

    See ya onthe tracks, Richo.

    Richo,
Your signature should also read "The Ayotallah of Rock and Rolla!" - always matching the music to the moment.

    Cheers

I'll get ya the sequence at some stage... the exit of that crossing managed to get a bit of travel out of the front suspension
