Recce 6,2011 PradoPointGTG
This reccewas commenced with the charter to find some interesting tracks to get fromCharlie Morelands camp site to the Noosa Northshore camp site. In the interestof expediency we did the trip in reverse so that we ended up closer toBrisbane.
Present wasFozzy, Snaga and myself and there was an additional requirement on this recce, and that was “to stick to the plan and not get lead astray down interestingside tracks”.
This wentwell as we left Pomona for the Woondum National Park, first stop was theTablelands Rd Lookout with stunning views south for miles. The obligatory lineup shot was taken and then back to the track. 3 generations of Prados.
This iswhere it went a little pear shaped... we saw an interesting side track, oops. The 150 tackled the ruts first, no problems, we then guided Fozzy through withhis saggy bum, that’s stock suspension wise, and then it was Snaga.
A picturetells a thousand words, Snaga lost forward momentum, apparently. He’ll tell youit was the person directing, but said person was too busy taking photos andlaughing.
Next upFozzy was “de-flowered” as he puts it, doing his first snatch recovery whichwent well without any dramas.
Off to thecommunications towers for a look and to get our weekend dose of RF induction, back to the main track and then on to Amamoor State Forest (Gympie Music MusterSite).
Then turningsouth through the Amamoor and Imbil State Forests, where we came to washed outbridge that fortunately had a side track through the creek. The tracks aregravel roads with no problems for standard suspension cars and camper trailerfriendly.
