I installed a set of four sensors on Friday. Yes a camera would be better, but I got the kit for free from someone who didn't want to drill into their car. Yes, there is the annoying BEEP when reversing up my sloped driveway, but generally they seem to work ok. Once I have fine tuned the angle of the sensor within the bar I was going to glue them into position as the holesaw provided gave a minor loose fit. The kit said they would be affected by water when it is raining, so I'm not confident they will cope with a full dunking.

The sensors 'read' rain drops on the sensors as an obstruction. As they are a sealed unit I believe the sensors are fine under water for the short periods the things are likely to be submerged. My problem is wet or dry the OEM sensors are unreliable. To the extent that they once went beeeeep after rearward motion was halted by a fence post that was in line with one sensor.

I have found one of the sensors I place below the spare wheel, detects the spare as an object and beeps. I have disconnected this one but am now left a "dead space". it seems to be one of those problems that shows up only after you have drilled through the bumper- and I did measure twice and cut once! In hind sight I should have just got the camera! Teething problems!

Was that a two or four sensor system?

Four sensor system, spread equally across the bumper, though now it is a three sensor setup...

Due to the placement of the bumper lights, I thought I might just put in a 2 sensor system but that would then have one under the wheel. Hmmm....
