    Hi Jim

We did a traveling trip with another couple with the Blackwolf Turbo Lite Plus, before you buy get the shop to show you how it folds up, the best they could was 10 minutes with two people.

See ya on the tracks, Richo.

      Hi Jim,

Don't discount the oztent. It is without doubt one of , if not the quickest tent to put up & down. It is also one of the strongest.
If there is no strong wind it can be free standing. (No guy ropes)

I have an RV5 that I used to carry on the roof rack that you have. I went to Clarke rubber & bought some high density foam that I cut into blocks to support the tent while it sat on the front & rear of the basket. I also had some rubber pipe insulation that I cut and put over the rails of the roof rack.

It is expensive but IMO and (sadly ) experience, you get what you pay for.

As far as condensation goes, if you get the oztent make sure that you get a fly for it, as without a fly the condesation is a problem.

      Cheers

I was having a look on the austrac camper trailer site tonight and see that they do a copy of the oztent, they call it austent. Price advertised is $399, the specs look preety good. Might be worth considering as a cheaper alternative.

        Cheers, Matt

Had a look at an Oztent RV5 yesterday. Very impressed with the quality of the tent but was disappointed in the lack of headroom. I'm not too tall at 180cm but the only place I could stand up was near the front. The salesman erected a Blackwolf (it took him about 2 minutes) and it had a lot more height. I will take your tip Richo about getting him to demonstrate taking it down and packing it away.
On another issue we were looking for a stove to take away and ended up getting a Weber BabyQ 100. Tried it out tonight with roast beef, yum, onto a winner there.

I was deciding on a new tent earlier this year and went for the Jet Tent F25X. It's bulky and heavy (32kg for the F25X. F25 is better at 23kg) but I can swing it up on the roof rack without too much drama. SWMBO hasn't done a lot of camping so comfort was important, there's plenty or room to stand up and it can fit 2 kids and all our clothes up the back easily.

I needed something that I could put up by myself and with a new addition to the family nylon was out because of the heat during the day. I loved the ease of the Oztent RVs, they're a lot less bulky but the only place I could stand up was next to the door.
