  • Torn Seat

    Hi All,
The cloth on the drivers seat has started to wear out and is slightly torn on the drivers seat (on the right side near the door from where you slide in and slide out of the seat...any advice on how to repair this or will I have to get all my seats re-covered again?

Probably looking at a re-cover there mate, in the interim - why not try a set of seat covers before the original fabric is completely ruined?
At least that would prevent any further damage for the time being...

Not sure what options you have over your way - but if you have access to a TJM retailer, they do a wetseat style cover that looks pretty good. Or a set of lambs wool covers if you'd prefer?

thanks...just checked with the TJM agent here and they don't stock the seat covers...will check what other options are available for seat covers here...I know you get canvas covers which are very strong but they are not very comfortable and also get very hot in the sun...regards

Check ebay as the squabs come up every now and then and are reasonably priced.

Hi Vijay. My prado has a tear in the usual place on drivers seat where you slide out over bottom squab near door. Local man is going to take a panel out of centre of 3rd row seats (which are removed) and use this to replace damaged panel, then fit a close match panel into the 3rd row seat which won't look out of place. Apparently this is quite a common practice. It may work for you. Cheers.
