AMTS - I'm still up for a set of your mark II spacers if you get a few sets produced. Apologies I have been out of touch. Work and a major home renovation!

Finally got my action cam to get footage of what the suspension is doing. Here it is below. View is of the passenger's side airbag. Camera is at the brakes, pointing inboard.
The airbag is now pumping straight (on axis) instead of being at an angle. No flexing of the suspension as that video was taken of me driving to/from work.

Are you missing the guard off the front tank? Are you in the process of making something a little more robust to protect that part of the car?Dave

Hi amts thanks for the video of your new spacers. They look very stable and the airbag sits squarer again. How many degrees of taper did you use for your new spacer?[B]2003 V6 Parado Grande.

Installed the 2" lift into our 2007 Grande using a combination of Bilstein shocks with King springs and Airbagman replacement airbags. Rear right airbag popped out in the first week it was installed. Upon inspection it had a small tear in the bag which looked like it had been pinched. Airbagman replaced the damaged bag and I had R clips installed to retain the bottom of the airbag. No issues so far. Very happy with the lift, ride is really smooth and rear height adjustment works fine.
The guys at Mermaid Suspension (Gold Coast) who did the install, said the airbag may have moved out of it's seat when the car was jacked up to replace the tyres.07 Silver Grande AUTO, front runner rack, maxtrax, ARB on board compressor, safari snorkel, bushranger roof top pack... I was under the rear of the car today having a look at what's involved in replacing the airbags and noticed that my airbags look kinda quite new.
Is there any way of telling if they have previously been replaced with airbag man bags,I can't see any branding as such on them.
how can you tell if they are oem bags or airbag man bags.
I have owned the car for about 2 years and it's a 2003 model so.Last edited by Gmmj72; 13-06-2015, 05:14 PM.

Grande Airbag Retaining after a Lift
The first post of the following thread shows the difference between the genuine and the Airbagman. Visually the genuine has the stone protector shroud and a steel base whereas the bad of the Airbagman jobbie is poly.

Airbag SST Alternative
I know this is an older thread however,
I came across this on another site for removing Air suspension on a Lexus
The same Toyota workshop instructions were posted on there also.
It is apparently an alternative to ordering the Toyota SST
and it comes in a 7 Piece different size kit
You can get them from Supercheap Auto
A/C & Fuel Line Disconnect Set - 7 Piece
Imperial
http://www.supercheapauto.com.au/Pro...7-Piece/123376
Metric
http://www.supercheapauto.com.au/Pro...01060/SPO80058
can anyone confirm the size of the air line will fit the 1/4inch size or 6mm? for this SST Alternative
The Metric one is only $12 for the whole set!For every part broken comes the great opportunity to upgrade, enhance and improve. Just dont tell the other half how much its going to cost.

I had my Prado 120 Grande airbags replaced with coils in April 2016, best thing i did, it is a firmer ride, the height won't stay the same regardless of weight, but that is out weighed by the reliability and any future cost to replace parts.
It wasn't cheap to convert and lift was $1400 just for the rear, but then again replacement airbags were going to be at least $800 just for parts.
With the heavy duty springs, the height is almost as high as Full height was on the air bags - but new shocks still have travel left.
This years Simpson Trip compared to last years was chalk and cheese, wasn't having to reset the suspension all the time because the car was down on the bump stops.

I have to agree, after loosing an airbag on a recent trip, Ive converted to springs. much better handling. For every part broken comes the great opportunity to upgrade, enhance and improve. Just dont tell the other half how much its going to cost.
