Rob - did you straighten out your ARB plate with a rubber mallet? Or are you just looking at getting something stronger :-)

Rob have you considered something from TJM, Brown Davis or elsewhere?

            Re: ATS Bash Plate

Ill soon be in the market for a new bash plate, probably will consider the davis brown. Would there be any interest from SA'ers in trying to coordinate a possible group buy?

Hi Schaffer. Yes mate. I have done some basic research and web browsing. Could not find much on the ATS and hence the question. I think (but not convinced) the Brown Davis is the best value for money even though it only goes so far back. Would appreciate your comments.

Switched, subject to Schaffer's comments (he is my logical Angel on my left shoulder as opposed to the little devil on my right shoulder that says it only matters how it looks ) I intend on getting the Brown Davis. I am aware of another member that may also want to get one as well.

I've been considering the Brown Davis for a while but haven't found a good enough reason to jump just yet. A decent price as part of a group buy might be the nudge I need. :-)

                Cheers

                  Re: ATS Bash Plate

I contacted Davis Brown directly on Friday. They advised we can go direct through them or their reseller "Cross country 4x4" so I thought I'd try both. Davis Brown were supposed to check pricing and call me back, so I'll give them a call Monday. I'll also give cross country a call next week unless someone wants to drop into their Edwardstown store to pay them a visit.

Obviously with these things it can be very difficult as we don't have solid numbers.

I expect Davis brown will want payment upfront before sending so Ill see if we can each arrange to phone the orders through and get them delivered to someones house (saving freight in the meantime) Otherwise if its cross country we each can head into store to pay.
                  Stay tuned...

                  People that have shown interest:
                  Switched (definate)
                  Midlifecrisis x 2 (definate?)
                  Schaffer (maybe)
                  GWatts (maybe).

Anyone else PM me and I can update the list. Mods can we change the title of the thread to reflect Davis Brown bash plate instead?

Brown Davis Bash Plate BULK ORDER for SA

                      Switched

Firstly I changed the heading to attract interest. (Previously ATS Bash Plate Picture wanted)

I have my brother in law checking a price for me (us) also. He is based in WA (4wdParts) and has already saved a few PP members in SA a small fortune including shipping!

I am in WA next week but expect to hear something this week so I will keep this forum updated.

                      Regards

                      Rob

Re: Brown Davis Bash Plate BULK ORDER For SA

If the price is right, I would be interested too.

They can be delivered to my edwardstown warehouse if it helps, x country are only 800 Mtrs away too.

Re: Brown Davis Bash Plate BULK ORDER For SA

Brown Davis actually do three plates to suit the 120. The first is a Radiator plate (10kgs)(UGTP120F2) (only suitable for use with the genuine Toyota alloy bendy bar), then there is the Sump, Steering and Diff guard (20kgs)(UGTP120F1) and the last piece is the Transmission guard (10kg)(UGTP120T1). It is interesting that the above info is not on the Brown Davis website but can be found elsewhere.

I know the standardish price for the Sump and Transmission guards is about $560 for both. They weight in at 30kgs but probably about 7-8kgs of plates come out. The sump plate when originally released did not support an access port to the sump drain plug but it does now. One downside is it does not force the mechanic to remove the plate hence cleaning the collected garbage out from there, but since we are all responsible for our 4wds and do proper trip prep then having the sump drain port will not be an issue will it
