Ok, so some people might no like but I never go offroad, I work 7 days a week 52 weeks a year so I commute only and a big puddle is about as adventurous as i get.

I have a set of 24" rims fitted with 295/30/24 tyres.

Rim width is 10", offset is ET15.

My question is how will they sit over standard ie clearance in offset and how far petrude beyond the arches?

    Many thanks

    D

When compared to a 7.5" ET30 wheel: A 10" ET15 wheel will be 16.8mm closer to the suspension and 46.75mm closer to the guards.

This is probably a silly question but I don't really understand all these offset calculations. Will a set of 120 standard toyota alloy rims fit on my 90 series.

Based on Andrew's data the 120 wheels wont be legal on a 90 even if that fit. The offset on the 16x7 wheels is +15 while the offset on the 17x7.5 wheels is +30. That would reduce your track by 17.5mm. Cannot reduce track at all.

              Dick Cepek Gun Metal 7
(I already know Dick Cepek DC-2's wont... very annoyed.)

Or what other rims will. Every time I find a decent wheel/rim, I find out they don't make it to fit.
The table needs to be adjusted to say what sizes (for a 120) will fit ie 7.5 to 8, -x offset to
-/ +ve offset etc. Kind of like a Wheel chart for dummies, except real simple as I have trouble reading the "for dummies" books.

mlc, confused, alone and in the foetal position trying to come to grips with wheel cjhoices.....
Just fitted Gun Metal 7s to a 120 GXL with MT ATZ 4 rib, standard suspension, no problems at all.

Thanks mjrandom. Just trying to decide if I change my rims on my camper. The camper came with 120 prado alloy rims and I was interested that if I really needed to use them in a sticky situation I could as interchangable as spares. Looks like I might need to sell the 3 rims and tyres and get some newbies.

It's interesting that the offset for the 90 series goes the wrong way
                  90 Series
                  • Alloy/Steel 16x7" ET15
                  • Steel 16x6" ET30

Usually, the narrower tyre will have less offset i.e. 16x6" ET15. What does your tyre placard say?

If you are just looking to have an emergency wheel then I wouldn't worry. Fit them up and check they are ok. For the record now that I am getting a 150 I wont be changing the 17x7.5 GX steelies on my trailer assuming that they fit the 150. Again as an emergency measure only. And that does happen. Years ago I was sand driving North of Yeppoon (let's just say I didn't see a particular sign and leave it at that) and staked two tyres. I was pulling my trailer (same as I have now) with a tinnie on it. As the wheels were the same offset I simply jack knifed the trailer in the bush and grabbed both wheels off the trailer. Swapped the tyres and headed back into Yeppoon for repairs. Resumed the journey several hours later.

Yes it wont be legal but for the sake of getting out of somewhere to get repairs I don't believe it will be an issue.

i can confirm 8.5" x 17" rims in +14 offset fit perfectly on my GXL 150 with 285/70/17 tyres.

Nice! No rubbing at full articulation with LR UCAs? The 150 series owners will be pleased!

Derek, is there any additional modification required (i.e. to mudflaps, guards, guard liner, etc) to fit without ANY rubbing?

There is slight rubbing at full lock on the mudflap, an easy fix, and the UCA need to be replaced.

                            Cheers Derek

Hi Andrew , we have a 120 prado GXL with 265 65 r17 grand treks. I have bought some bridgestone 265 65 r17 desert dueler tyres. They are a different width. I want to know if they will fit the rims. Cheers stotty

If the sizes on the sidewall are the same, they will fit.
