I've had a set of STZs (265/70) on for a few weeks now and am very impressed, especially on wet roads. I've been on a couple of mild off-road trips, always on dry terrain but they've handled everything with ease. I'm off on a tougher trip this weekend so will report back - it looks like the trail will be quite wet so they'll get a good test!

Great to hear the wet road comment, Hector! I can only afford 1 set of tyres so they need to do the school run as well as of road.
I've been tossing up STZs or Cooper AT3 but recently heard a great review of Toyo Open Country A/T2. Preference atm is STZs - $290 at Guests seems pretty reasonable.

Hi All
I started this thread back when the STZ's were just out - wow that was 6 years ago now - so it was a bit of a leap of faith to get them before there were many (or any) reviews!
Now almost worn through my second set - still a great tyre - good on bitumen, wet or dry, and great for sand or gravel roads.
They've been to the Cape via OTT, done the CREB Track, Simpson desert French Line crossing (twice), Kimberleys, Bungle Bungles, many trips to Fraser Is, Tassie towing a van, as well as school drop off/pick up each day.
Downsides: On very sticky wet clay roads (eg CREB track on a wet day), they required a lot more "skill" to get through than the others with M/T tyres. However we made it anyway!
Apart from that, all good!
Cheers,
RobRob.

Would also be interested as I cant decide whether to get the STZ or the new KO2's A/T?
Live in NZ so our of roading we have wetter conditions i guess than some in Australia?
Also this is my daily driver so I take it to work and back and also the misses uses it around town as well.
Only want to purchase one set of tyres.
Advice would be ver helpfull.
