  • Drifta kitchen in 120 with cargo barrier ?

Has anyone got a drifta carback kitchen and loads it into a 120 with a cargo barrier ?

I am looking at one and the 900mm length has me wondering if it will fit, as I have a rear door table as well....

    Any thoughts :?:

Knock up a dummy kitchen out of cardboard of the same dimensions and try it.

      Good idea !

I will and if it's a little big, I might get my new kitchen made a little shorter

I reckon the dummy set up is the best bet. I have spoken to Luke at Drifta before and customs are no issue for him. The new kitchen is a few months away yet as I have a few other mods and projects on the back burner that I need to bring forward.

          Cheers,

Depending what barrier you have Drifta should have the mesurements . Last October i went up to the factory and
had mine measured up which Luke said they keep on file . I've got a miford barier in mine hope this might help.

Mine slides in no problems with a rear table.

              BUT

I made new bottom brackets on my cargo barrier allowing the barrier to sit as close as possible to the back of the middle seats without actually touching. This pushed the barrier forward about 7cm.

Anyone have a Drifta two drawer system with an Autosafe barrier installed?

I am wondered how the drawers would install given the barrier uses brackets attached to the rear tie down points.

Give Drifta a call mk. From memory I thought they customed the Autosafe barrier to fit up to their drawers as an option?

I have a set of Outback drawers and a standard Autosafe barrier. If Drifta make the rear bottom and back open a bit it will fit fine. See pics to get the concept.

I'm actually thinking of getting a set made in the next month or so and was going to call today. They do recommend the half height barriers as you get more space but they're a clever bunch and can customise any way you want. I have a Caddy storage (ausguard) barrier which is slightly different fitting I believe. I've already got a their car back kitchen from a previous life so was going to see if they can incorporate that

I thought their drawers only used the rear most tie downs.

Thanks for the pic D4D. Outback drawers - are they the ones ARB distribute? ARB told me I would need to fit one of the Outback cargo barriers (half size ones) to make it work.

The more I look at the Drifta setups, the more I like. I think postage to WA is gonna kill me though.

The Drifta Drawer carcass bolts down to the rear most tie down locations as you say and then it is secured with 2 turn-buckles on the tie down rings closest to the rear door. Makes for a very quick extraction which I need to do regularly.

Yep 4wd Interiors make the Outback drawers for ARB, I have an original set of Outback drawers. I was also told it wouldn't work and didn't want to go to the expense of buying a half cargo barrier. I bought the Autosafe from eBay for $100 and it fits like a glove, I can even recline the 2nd row seats.

LOL. Cheers Craig. That's what I meant. The ones closest to the door at the rear of the car. Nice to know they're a quick change. I'm in the same boat, needing to swap in and out to use the 3 rd row seats a fair bit.

Had a look last night and my barrier bolts in near the centre line, away from the D rings nearest the 2nd row seats.
