    Roadblock's 2011 GXL D4D Build up

    G'day guys... just thought I would post the first photos of my new 2011 GXL D4D. I managed to find it at Toyota's pre-delivery yard this morning in 2 minutes after the dealer spent the last 2 days trying to locate it...



    Still with the pyjamas on...



    P.S. the MY11 still has those little toy mudflaps...

        I haven't got a whole lot planned compared to some of the awesome rigs on this forum. Its getting a TJM T13 colour coded deluxe winch bar next week pre-delivery long with a Hayman Reese towbar. I have a GME TX3600 LCD mic UHF in the cupboard that I'm planning a pretty neat install for as well. Beyond that it will probably be slow going. I have a few things on the wish list such as winch, roof tray, 175A Anderson plug on the towbar for the camper trailer, Dual Battery, spotlights, etc.

        I tossed and turned over which colour to get. I probably liked the sandstone the most of them all simply because you rarely see any on the roads around here. I had a big problem with the Beige interior though...

              I have had my Blue Storm for a couple of weeks now and I can't believe the number of positive comments about the colour, both here on the forum and on the street. I am absolutely flabergasted that more people don't order this colour. Mine is a GX and the dealer couldn't believe I would wait three months for a blue one when he had a perfectly good white one sitting in his yard! Looking forward to following your build up. I went for the black bullbar so it will be interesting to see photos of yours with the colour coded one.

                love the colour NOW, i wanted white but she who must be obeyed wanted the blue and now best decision she ever made for me, we went colour coded bar looks great

                  Thanks to everyone for the compliments on the colour.

                  The bullbar goes on tomorrow. I happened by TJM today to check that they had everything ready to go and noticed a note on the job card that read "VERY PARTICULAR CUSTOMER". :lol: Fine by me... better they note that now then to have me back there on Friday beating my chest!

                  Still agonising over the driving lights... Narva Vs X-rays. I think the $$$s will make the decision in the end.

                    The delivery... what a wonderous occasion.

                    I didn't manage to take any photos yesterday at the dealer but here are a couple of the ones I took today.







                    I just had to pay a visit to TJM Mackay today for thank them for doing such a great job on the bullbar and the towbar installation. Well done fellas.

                      Nice one Roadblock, the rig looks good. The hayman reese tow bar is ir chassis mounted? Like toyo or just bolted in the middle like the 120 toyo bar?

                          Next for me is to install my UHF radio (GME TX3600 with LCD mic). I got the guys at TJM to throw a new aerial on it during the build. Now I just need to sift through some other installs on PP to figure out where best to mount my radio. I deally I would like to have the mic simply plug into a connector in the dash so that the mic can be removed and stowed when not in use.

                            Here is a photo of the HR bar from underneath. It looks to be bolted in the middle... not to the chassis like the toyota bar. Given they're only rated to 2,500kg and the biggest thing I tow is our camper trailer, I think we'll be right.

                              Ooooo the blue looks nice with a colour coded bar doesnt it. This is going to be the colour of choice for the Golly horde after getting approval for the 150.
                              Notice the matching paint to roller door.... now that is class hahah, my flinders red matches our roller door too lmao!!!! :lol:
