Hi all
Not very exciting at all however I decided to vaccuum the carpet in the prado. Our 120 is seven years old and was owned by a dairy farmer so the carpet was pretty dirty. I started to clean it and realised it may as well come out to be done properly. All was fine until I got to the centre console and it took ages to work out how to get it out. Here are some basic pics of how it comes apart and the difference a full carpet clean makes.
(we have four kids, 2 under 4 so its kinda like a pig sty after a week or so.)
This bit of silver trim just lifts up from around the middle of the console and swings up and out from the front. Same on both sides.
You can then pivot the centre part of the console up at the rear and out of the way. Remove the gear knobs first and there is an electrical connection to remove that goes to the auto selector.
This is how the console top looks once out.
There are two silver screws (oner beneath the handbrake) to remove under the console cover and then two in the centre console bin between the seats.
The rear can then swing away
Here is a collection of shots showing how dirty the carpet was;
The sand in the back is from child care just once a week!
Pressure cleaning!
All clean and back in!
Wagon are before and after;
How exciting was that :shock:
