    ************************************************

I thought I would start my own build thread for my 120 series.

Bought the car in December 2010 and started adding straight away so no photo's from day one but it was a completely standard GXL (apart from the factory Satnav). I added a set of Bridgestone D694s and a GME TX3340 UHF.

Note the small light bar to mount the UHF aerial - I wanted somewhere to mount the aerial until I can get a Bullbar but don't like the bonnet edge mounts - this seemed to be the only option.

    Re: Trekrider's 2006 V6 GXL

I mounted the socket for the UHF handset in the centre console.

Next to go in was the Dual Battery System - DIY install using a Redarc switch.

Original Battery with 100A Blade fuse.

I've also started on a set of custom drawers, early days yet but the basic shells are in.

I'm going for two separate units that can be fitted individually. I have the drawer slides and T handles on order and picked up the 12mm steel rods to mount to the third row seat points today. This may be a slow project as spare time is short at the moment.

Nice one Trek, it must be a late 2006 model to have roof rails etc.

Thanks Rob, it was first registered in 2007 so I guess it was a late model '06.

More on the dual battery setup:

        Second Battery.

        Relocation of Power Steering Reservoir.

Redarc switch and six way fuse panel.

Override switch and warning LED (Now replaced with Carling switch).

You must be excited about it

You're all barred up at the front.

Sorry I can sometimes be a little bit tasteless but the canvas looks good.

No worries mate, I know it looks a bit naff but I spent more on the car than I originally planned and the real bar is going to have to wait. I want to get the TJM T13 bar eventually but in the meantime I'm trying to find a cheap second hand Sovereign bar to be going on with. I also want to get a Snorkel but that has to wait for the time being as well - now where was that winning lottery ticket? And yes, I am excited about it

              More mods:

              Fire Extinguisher on Drivers side.

              Maglite mount on Passenger side.

Next came the all important PP Sticker.

              More to come.........

                More additions I didn't mention.

                Front Recovery points.

                Rear Diff Breather.

                Hose run for breather.

Like many others have done, the breather tube runs up into the body then up the rear pillar ending with a small petrol filter behind the rear light.

I plan to do all the breathers eventually and will take the others up into the engine bay.

Thanks, to answer your question, in my garage I got the recovery points from Coastal 4x4 and fitted them myself - easy job, just have to undo the radiator to swing it out of the way so that you can drill out the holes and fit the bolts.

Got some more work done on the drawers today.

I have the side pieces and piano hinges - just need to cut these to size.

I'm waiting on the heavy duty runners and T Handles that I ordered this week and for Bunnings to get some Beige coloured marine carpet in stock (should also be this week).

Managed to get the cases pretty much complete yesterday:

The other big event was getting command approval to get a Snorkel - so, off to ARB today
