    I posted a question to a seller on fleabay, this was their reply;

    .....,

if yours is a 90 series prado then unfortunately the ScanGauge is not compatable. If however it is a 120 series (late 2005) then the ScanGauge will be.
    Cheers
    Wooders Garage Pty Ltd

the 120's started in 2003 didnt they???
and so the guy has no idea???
or am I more sleep deprived than I realised???

anyhow, do any of you wonderful people know if the scangauge will work on my 120 series, 2005 prado???
I have googled, and read conflicting reports, so I thought I would ask here
also, wherr do you have yours mounted??

    Thank you

    Re: scangauge questions

There are a few threads on the scan gauge already, have you tried the search feature?

yep, I searched, lots of info, but no definite answer that I could see, as to if it would work with our 2005 prado :?
If you have a thread in mind and can give me the link I will be one happy mama
      Thanks

          Re: scangauge questions

ok, its fairly extensive, but could try - Product Review: ScanGaugeII Trip Computer

Page 15 has something about not working on the pre the D4D in the 120 series, and that it didn't work when tried in a 2003 diesel. No idea about the petrol version yet... Certainly 16 pages of information, might be something (unless you've been through it already?)

I've similarly been wondering about the '03 petrols (mine is Dec03). My car has the port, so does this mean that although the plug is correct, the signals coming out of it aren't correct? Is there any similar device that can read the signals that the 03 models send out?

You would have the OBD port not the OBDII port and so would not be compatible just as indicated above. Nothing to wonder about.

Offroader mentioned in this post water temperature gauge post #6 that the late 04 model 5speed autos were supported by scangauge. I need to confirm on the build plate when I get home what mine is but is there a physical difference when looking at the ODB/ODBII port or is it just the S/W?
