    Finally got around to mounting the fold out table I made. When I get a spare $30 I'll re-carpet the thing as it is a bit of an ordinary/ruff job but it came up not too bad.

        Smaller Table

        Utilised the useless compartment by cutting off the tabs and fixing hinges from Whitworths. Then cutting some composite board as the tray.
        Good place to have a cuppa rather than the dirty step.

          That's a really good idea, all you need for a quick cuppa stop. What did you use as cord? Is it just twin core wire split at the end? How did you fix it to the lid?

            Nicely done, that's a great idea. A solution for those of us with drawers too close to the rear door.

              The table support is nylon rope loop going through the top hole and finished in a knot behind the panel . It hooks around the two tonneau knobs when the table is down. The hinges came from Whitworths They have neat covers that hide the fasteners. The assembly I used rivets with washers behind to spread the load. And also keep the depth down so that the white composite sits flush. I was going to use double sided tape to hold it in place but it is a tight fit and makes it easy to remove and clean.

                Thanks for the Prado 150 rear door design

                Hi Hoges - thanks for taking the time to upload the pics and explanation of the design....for the 'less technically inclined' (i.e. me), it helped a lot.

                For others like me, in relation to the shock cord, connectors and misc bits, go to Clarke Rubber as they had all the bits that others didn't have (eg. i went to Rays Outdoors, BCF, Bunnings and Spotlight without joy BUT Clarke had all the little bits, leaving bunnings with the major components, such as table, hinges and marine carpet).

                Here are some pics of my finished product;

                  Well gave it a crack myself today. I even put in a LED light. Took around 2 hours and now I need to get some edging as the carpet folding around didn't work out to well for me.
