  • No Limits Tuning Chip.

Hi has anyone heard of these, so far a mate of mine put one on his new Pajero and advised a noticeable increase in power and fuel economy. I was thinking of purchasing one for my Prado 120 D4D. At $150 bucks on ebay i thought it a scam until my mates story. Has anyone heard of any ramifications by fitting one of these and has anyone got any info re this chip :?:

At first thought I would have gone with that too.... but looking at their website they seem to be credible. Looks like they are out of Germany.

Still wouldn't you prefer a local and one that offers a new engine warranty?

        Re: No Limits Tuning Chip.

I bought one back in November for my 08 D4d Prado and I can definitly notice an increase in power and torque. I'm not sure about the economy yet because most of our driving has been on gravel. As soon as I plugged it in and started it up it ran smoothly, so I took it out the road to try it out. If you just plant the foot you don't notice too much at highway speeds but when towing or accelerating around town you can definitly notice a difference. It would probably be more noticable in a manual as the auto seems to absorb the power. I reckon that it's well worth the money and at only $160 what have you got to lose.

          Re: No Limits Tuning Chip.

I purchased one for my 06 1KZ-te in January, being a non D4-D it is a” hard wired piggy back chip” not plug and play.
Initially I had a few problems as the instructions supplied were for a different ECU, and the supplier had no information on my ECU or a pin out diagram for my vehicle, however after a few emails and some assistance from another Prado point member who supplied a wiring diagram the chip is now installed.

The difference is immediately noticeable; much less throttle position to maintain the same road speed, fuel consumption appears to be better but will have to wait for a few fills to confirm.

However normal city driving to and from work 75km per day round trip usually turns the 90L light on at 590-620km and the average over the last 12months has been 16.3l/100km.

Filled up on the morning after fitting the chip and the light came on at 690km refilled at 1,005km and it took 142l, as my main reason for fitting the chip was to reduce fuel consumption it appears to meet this requirement, the added performance may be a bonus.

So to date can offer no bad and some good I will keep all informed…

            Re: No Limits Tuning Chip.

            Got one for $ 130.
Installation was relatively straight forward on my D4D.
Subjectively it gives me more torque at low revs and she it taking better off from standstill.
Did not go on a dyno.
I am using the standard (medium) setting.
Fuel consumption around 11l per 100 with 276/65 BFG AT KO, snorkel and a mild lift.

Personal opinion: bang for the buck is ok.

It's interesting that 3 of the 4 people praising the chip have only 1 post.

Sorry, didnt want to be offensive or a smartarse but having only one or two posts doesnt mean necessarily that you a spammer.
On the other hand I understand your concerns and it is a pity that I posted not much before this one but... I got the truck just last year and didnt have much to say beside a few PM's

I have not long ago purchased my 120 d4d and love it. Last night talking to a mate with a 200 series he told me about these and say to him they're awesome. He feels best $150 he's spent on his 200. So now it has me thinking of getting one for my Prado. Just found this thread, but so far looks interesting.

The name of this chip has me concerned:

                        NO LIMITS?

I gather it is simply overfuelling the engine, bypassing the ECU and it's inherent protection?
If you are not watching EGT's, IMHO, start saving for the new cylinder head and hoping the engine doesn't stick a leg out of bed.
                        cheers
                        Steve

I originally bought one of these but have since put a DP Chip on my 150 D4D.
While there are noticeable increases in power just be careful if you run them at their highest setting. Just heard from another guy who has been running one at the highest setting for last 2 years and from what I understand the overfilling has ruined the valve at the back of the throttle body costing him around $2500 to fix. He was out of factory warranty though. I'll find out the exact problem Toyota found.
