You can get black or... black.! Nah I had it colour matched by some spray painters. The plastic has a lot of pin holes in it from the casting which show up once it's painted but the head is perfect, but still pretty happy with how it looks.

Nice colour... Now 20 questions... well 6 for now... where do you go and how much-if I may ask? And the tape on your car for your snorkel port if for a reason? Water/Rust proofing? Just masking tape? Did you spray your tow bar at same place as well? Does it scratch off easy?

Any of the car repair/spray shops will do them, but most are still flat out from the hail storms. Cost me $230 and was lucky enough to get it squeezed in between other jobs so was done within 2 days. I can give you names/numbers if you need them via PM. As for the tape, just masking tape to mark things out on. 8) I got the bullbar sprayed elsewhere but over 3yrs ago now, and no it doesnt scratch off any easier than the car paint. It has a couple of chips and scratches on it from normal road and offroad use and abuse but still looks great compared to how the original bumber would look now if had the same encounters.

              Re: Safari Snorkel

Looks good, just a suggestion re the thread title, maybe it should read colour coded safari snorkel rather than just Safari snorkel. I think it would make it easier for people to find in the future if they were interested in doing something similar.

              Cheers Andrew

Very good idea - I was only wondering whether anyone had done this, last week...

Re: Safari Snorkel - Colour Coded

Another PP member Quicky, has done this to his car a couple of years ago.
When looking at it at the recent GTG it appears that the paint is now peeling off.
Maybe it is something to do with the surface preparation or maybe it's just that paint does not stick to polypropylene
                      long term.
Maybe send him a PP to see how it has been standing the test of time.

I looked into doing the same as my wife was keen on it being white, my spray painter said he would do it, but would give no gaurentee as to how long it would last. Apparantly they have a different type of primer for different types of plastics and he couldn't be sure which one to use on the snorkel. So i stuck with black which is fine for me anyway.

It would be interesting to see how it stands the test of time.

Re: Safari Snorkel - Colour Coded

We have had our snorkel on for about 3 years now but wasn't allowed to have a black one thus the paint job. As dobbo said the paint is starting to come off in a couple of spots but it's no surprise as the pannel beater said it the worst thing he has had to paint. They have a very course surface and it's hard to get the paint to stick
the cheap way to colour match

a couple of shots of the snorkel but i have no close ups of it
