  • Brake Light Signal from Switch at Bake Pedal - (Wire Color)

It really perplexes me as to why on this forum there would be that many people who have figured out what wire colors are for in the Prados but seem unwilling to share as if to say "I did the hard work to find it out so why dont you get a test light and do the same".

So In the interest of breaking the trend: If anyone is yet to install a brake controller and want to get the brake light signal from the pedal switch rather than running a wire all the way to the back of the car then see below for the wire colour you should T into at the pedal.

Brake Light Signal Wire color is Purple at the Pedal.

In the next couple of days I will share the same for Dash Illumination wire color since it would appear no one has figured this out yet.

Not too sure if using wire from the brake pedal switch will work given the electronics bus on modern cars.
My brake controller fitting was arranged by the Toyota dealer (who used Fleet Fit to actually do the job). Recently spend a bit of time tracing the wiring to make sure it was all ok. It was wired same as others on the forum recommend - cabled to the rear brake lights.

    Hope that helps

Hi Peter, Got it wired to the switch in my 150 and no problems (with neighbors P3) - all it gets from the purple wire is a 12v signal to tell it the brake pedal has been pushed, nothing more nothing less - and you can confirm it works OK by going the the troubleshoot screens, to Stop light.

I am have the same issue with my P3 that you are but I have proven this to be a faulty unit by borrowing a neighbors one that works no problem in my car.

      Cheers
