We are at 1847 Inverramsey Road.
    GPS Details: Lat = "-27.987916" Lon = "152.279520"...

Camping Area - Banshee Valley Area - Photo Below. This is a very large open area that has a small creek running along side. Its basically a fully self contained area. There are no showers or toilets in this area. There are some around a 5 minute drive away however.
RSVP - 31st January 2011 - So we can confirm numbers and costs.

Info from the Gordon Country Owner - Sue - Special Group Pricing for us...
    HI Daniel
Does evryone know to go to Cabin and take road immediately through gate to right -they do not go over the next creek crossing in Banshee but camp on right hand side. The cabin turn has a very large sign where they turn into cabin area.
Do you have someone organised to collect firewood -we do sell large bagged firewood for $15 bag or of course it is free if you collect.
As mentioned some people prefer to pay electronically to save bringing cash so for those who do price would be
$19 per adult for 2 nights which includes free hot showers. Children $15 Sorry I can't discount these prices further but I am happy to discount the 4 wh driving from $20 vehicle for the 2 days to $15 . There is good yabbing and swimming holes and some great walks and trails.
    Hope this helpful
    cheers
    Sue

Things that we may get up to...
Bit of 4WDing, we may have a Pajero along so we can test our recovery methods out on it  (please pass that on JoshF, hehe)
Big camp fire on the night
The possums & cows will come and visit as usual
    Explore the creek area
Have a few drinks and check out each others vehicles and camping setups.
    Backyard Cricket
Pretty much a lazy weekend away relaxing.

Directions on how to get to the Banshee Valley area...
The first map is the main map of the area, you basically drive along Inverramsy Road until you see the sign on the right hand side for the Gordon Country Cabins, turn right here on to a small road. It will then go straight ahead for about 50m and then veer left down hill to a creek crossing. There is 2 tracks you can take here, both will get you to the same creek crossing. You will then go uphill to a gate that is front of a cattle yard. If the gate is closed please enter but ensure that you close it. Then you will go forward a little and veer off to the right, past a cabin and then down a small hill. This will bring you into an opening. This is the Banshee Valley camping area. I usually camp near a small demountable block that looks like it could be a toilet but is not. There is a nice camp fire under some trees next to the creek. This area is a large open area but with plenty of cover.

Any and all are welcome, the more the merrier!

    Cheers Daniel

          Re: Gordon Country Camping Feb 12th & 13th 2011

Hi Dan, I believe there is a fee for anyone wanting to hit the (surrounding Gordon Country) tracks and it's not $15 as listed on the web site. We were there last weekend and was told that it is now $25. I'm not sure if that is per day or for the whole weekend. When we ask about the price hike, the property owner states that the local Janowen 4wd park, 2km down the road is charging the same. For the record, Janowen 4wd park charges $25 per vehicle for 5 days use of their tracks. At this stage, please put me down as a tentative yes.

There are toilets and showers on the other camp site. From memory getting between camp sites are only a minute drive.

X2!!!! i am waiting for the right time, i would think we would be in a cabin anyhow at 100+ bucks for the night i wouldn't even bother hiring a trailer or putting up the tent. Plus the little 19 month yo monster man is OOC at the moment, wide open spaces would have me probably drop 10kg in a weekend!!

I'll do the same however the website made no mention of any shower facilities in it's cabin.

What ever happened to the shovel and toilet roll...

Just think, you guys do not get the pleasure of cleaning out a porta potti when you get home, that is the part I look forward to most... NOT! After 4 days on Fraser I contemplated leaving it there.

Hehe, why do you think I have a Porta Potti... It was my only way of getting her away from a Hotel! I remember when I used to go camping. Tent, Swag, Esky with a bag of ice and cans of food. Now I have to take everything including a kitchen sink, inner spring mattress and the list goes on. Oh well, they say its worth it

Man I hope she does not read this.
