    hey thier guys
i hired a 150 prado for a drive the other day and will be ordering one as i was very impressed and think it will make a good touring vehicle, i have a question for you guys regarding the bull bar. on this hire vehicle it was new with only 37kms on the clock and drove as new, i went down a corrigated road and the ride remained good inside the cabin but i could see the bull bar shaking around alot so much i thought it wasn't bolted on. i stopped the car and inspected the bar and it was mounted as solid as could be with no slip in it at all, jumped back in car and continued to watch the bullbar shake around independant to the bonet.

everything i looked at leads to conclude this is normal behaviour but ive never seen a bullbar act so independant on a car before. if this is normal how do spot lights go at night they would be shaking everywhere making it hard to focus on the light.

    whats your thoughts

    Re: shaking bullbar

    Hi,
It is normal to get the flex. We have an Ironman bar on ours and it also fexes.....no need to worry as long as the flex does not interfere with the body.
    Cheers

      Re: shaking bullbar

Actually it's not the bullbar moving as such but the body moving in relation to the chassis. The body is mounted on rubber stoppers and the bullbar attached to the chassis. There is movement between the chassis and body but you don't see that unless you have something like a bullbar to show how much movement there is. When you get the bar just check how much clearance there is between the bar and the body. Should have around 20mm otherwise the body panels may suffer some damage.
