  • Solution to easily scuffed Plastics

Thought I’d better find a solution to the very easily scuffed plastic trims of the Prado.
I decided to wrap them in 3M Di-Noc Carbon Fibre Vinyl.
Provides lasting protection to the fragile service of these trims and looks awesome.

I have only done the rear doors for now (Kids), its pretty tricky and time consuming so thoughts I’d post some pics of this for now and some more when I’ve finished the rest.
I’ll be applying this to all the silver\grey coloured trims including steering wheel.
Enjoy… And stay posted for final pics of the rest.

Great job. Wrapping can be a bugger, if you can get Cast vinyl it molds easier with heat. can stretch and shring to suit.

What $$$ was your 3m vinyl and where did you get it? Its a tricky item to find sometimes.

      Cheers.

          Looks great.
Maybe I should do this to cover up my terribly scratched trim

Carbon fibre trim option in most German cars is $1000+, you could have stumbled on a nice earner 8)

Yeah this stuff is'nt cheap - about $60 for a 100cm x 22cm It is just thick enough to be heated up slightly and shaped but a little to much heat and you're $60 poorer.

Got it in from the states online.

Not cheap but it looks fantastic, i bet its fidly and time consuming to put on though. obviously you have the patience to spend the time to get it just right.

probably a cheap way to spruce up an older model rather than renew the trim. Wonder what it would look like in my 1985 Hilux

You would then need to get a "Bling" hanger to go around the rear view mirror

Good one. The plastic trim is simply pathetic

They look really nice. Do you need to remove the centre console to apply the film? Can you share how to safely remove centre console?
                        Thank you.

I think the result is great. Can't imagine myself having the patience to fit it though.

Does anyone have an instruction of how to remove the centre console of 150? I did a google search like "centre console site:www.pradopoint.com", and found none for 150.
