how heavy is a tonne? like 20kgs? or more? surely it wouldn't weight that much.. and if it does, what is the concern? fuel increase? suspension sag? or are you more worried about the space it takes up?

Hey Dan, its 41kg!!! But my main concern was the space it took up with the handle. I could have lived with it but the first comment from the wife... Where does my shopping go, I don't like it. So she won, I have ordered the Outback Slide now and will retrofit it to our roller draws.

      Cheers Daniel

Had the winch fitted today, hopefully I wont have to use it in anger. Having some issues with KDSS lean but I think I have a fix and will give it a go tomorrow. If all OK I will grab some pics and post them up.

Re: Rogerthats VX D4D Prado 150

Some pics of our new TJM XGS Suspension Kit, gave us around a 40mm lift however as with other VX and 200 Series owners that have KDSS mine is sitting down on the drivers side when parked... I will be bleeding the system over the next few weeks to try and get it sorted before our trip to Fraser.

The new TJM Ox 9500lbs Electric Winch... Just for emergencies

Side and Rear view of the suspension, it looks as though it is sitting up in the passenger side rear end, and it is. This is due to the 20mm lean on the drivers front thanks to the KDSS... Sometimes it sits level, most times it does not.

Now that the winch is installed I can finish fitting my Radio in prep for the Double Island Point day drive with Hutch and Co, looking forward to that!

                  Daniel,

having had the XGS suspension for a bit now, are you happy with it? Have you had it off road yet?

I am in the midst of deciding what suspension to get and any advice would be great.

                  The truck looks great!

                  regards

Thanks Peter, the suspension is great although I would be happier if it sat level side to side but that is the kdss! Went in 30mm up pass side rear and came out with the same lean, it is just more noticeable now that it is lifted. Some days it does not lean but most days it does...

We have done a little off road work and it handled it great however the big test will be this weekend when we head to fraser island for few days, cannot wait! Towing the camper over as well so it will test out the airbags as well. Will let you know if I have any issues. Cheers Daniel.

Thanks for comments ss-ss, we are loving it!

                        Daniel,

I have heard rumours that Toyota is able to fix the lean. I dont know any more than that, but maybe something to look into next service.

Thanks Mick, Toyota have had a go but say that a 25mm lean is 'acceptable' in a Prado 150... I will annoy them again on the next service but I do not think I will have much luck.

Acceptable?!? Thats a disgraceful attitude for them to have. Its almost dismissive isnt it. I guess it is acceptable for them because its not their problem. One things for sure, the person who works out a fix for this is going to be very popular.

The fix could be to get rid of the KDSS...

I wonder if Land Rover have the same issue?

There is nothing wrong with the KDSS (well apart from the lean), it is fantastic and one of the main reasons why I bought the VX. The lean is not there whilst driving, we have checked this many times, it is only there when parked. Given the chance I would buy and do the same again however it does annoy we seeing it lean when parked. Not sure about the Landrover, did not know it has KDSS.
