As per the 120 you'll find there is a "special" harness required. I get it either done by the dealer or by a reputable aftermarket installer.
Have you checked out the beefed up hayman reece style towbar setup for the 150 yet?
I'd say that Toyota has learnt something from the recent failures on the factory installed 120 series.

Bugger Bali, get out and see Australia before we sell it all to China.

One more question if I can, what brand of rust proofing is the best (electronic)I had spray on with the 120 but found it looked ugly could be the way it was applied but think electronic is the way to go.Thanks for your time Chris. PS hope this post works new to this site

Can't comment on the pricing difference between HR and Toyota for the Tow-bar on the 150, I fitted a HR on my 120 because I don't like cast-iron hitches.
I believe that ABR-Sidewinder has an electronic rust doo-dad. His build thread is at ABR-SIDEWINDER Build Thread. I've never really looked at these, I usually grab a litre or so of Lanotec and spray it all over the underside and after I have been to the beach (regularly) get under there with the hose and flush all the sand and salt away and after it is dry (usually a couple of days later) I reapply Lanotec. Of course I grew up in sheep country. 8)

Yep for a 120 HR is the go, but from the pictures I've seen it looks like the 150 bar is a HR.
Yeah i think D4D is right after all the moaning about the Toyo 120 hitch being 40mm and the HR job being 50mm or other way round i cant remember i am lead to belive that the difference between the 2 for the 150 is negligble
Dont list all ya mods, you will only be more upset when i get further
Toyota told me $899.00 for the towbar only any thing else is extra, Wynnum Towbars in Brisbane have one already as the mount points are the same as the 120. Theirs is $600.00 fitted and it doesn't hang down below the bumper and doesn't have a cut in the bumper, I'm getting it fitted Wednesday so I'll attempt to put a photo up when it has been fitted.

Richo,
I have also attended Wynnum Towbars and had a look at their bar. As a result I have cancelled the factory bar that I was getting fitted to mine. They are going to send me some photos from your install on Wednesday so I too will put some photos on the forum. I take delivery of our LC150 sometime next week and wasn't too impressed with the reduced departure angle that the factory bar gives, therefore am very interested in the Wynnum Towbars bar as it should be well and truelly tucked out of the way.
Here is the finished article, took two hours, I have had towbars from Wynnum Towbars before and never had any issues.

I picked up my Black Diesel GXL 150 series Prado on Saturday and have also taken it to Wynnum Towbars for a much neater towbar install. Thanks for the info Richo, much appreciated. The Guys at Wynnum Towbars did a great job and took around two hours to complete the job. Here are some photos of my install and Wynnum Towbars contact details in case anyone else is looking for a non standard bar that doesn't need the bumper to be cut or hang down as much as Toyota's.
I also picked up a second tongue for the Treg that is attached to the camper trailer. After the towbar install I had it tinted as well. Now that's two off the list with a few more to come.

Brains
Here is Toyota's
Mine from Wynnum Towbars
And lastly Wynnum Towbars details if anyone needs them.
Are there 2 zip ties holding the bumper to the towbar framework?
Yes that is right for the two inner mounts, there are two outer bolts that are reinstated. Bear in mind that the tabs with the bolts are plastic only, so they are locters only not support. The rear park sensors are not effected at all. An interseting thing is have a look underneath the rear bumper ans there are polystyrene bits between the bumper and frame, these are not painted and have Toyota part numbers, not sure what they are but at the 1000k service I will be asking the question.
Regards Richo.
