Nice work on the winch there Andrew. Have you had a chance to use in in anger yet or are you waiting for your Easter trip?

I'm looking at a winch but have my eyes on a Warn 9.5 SP. A little pricy though.

A bit pissed off about missing the chance to use it, had I installed it a couple of weeks earlier I could have used it on a club trip when one of our guys got bogged. Had to winch his CT out, but of course my winch was still sitting in the shed
On the long weekend we went out for an overnighter, took the CT down a track that i had been told i wouldn't make it through; hoping to get stuck and have a play. Didn't even lock the centre diff and drove the whole track in high range, not even close to getting stuck  hopefully we get stuck in the high country
If i can't get stuck there i'll have to go back to the cape and have another crack at the Frenchmans
Certainly the Warn seems to be the top of the range in both quality and price. As i said i don't expect to have to use it often so hence going down the price scale a bit.

          Cheers Andrew

Here's a sneak peek of my latest effort. Scrub bars

These are the points I have developed for attaching the scrub bars to the sliders i am now producing. One hole has a crush tube going right through the outer rail and a bolt goes right through with a nut on the back. On the second hole i couldn't use a nut so this has a blind hole with a thread tapped in it and a bolt screws in with no nut.

I will add more pics when i get the bars fitted up.

The UHF ariel will hit the scrub bars where it is currently mounted, hence the mounting bracket for the ariel attached to the bars. Into the local spray painter for a bit of colour tomorrow.

sorry no pics of them fitted at this stage

            Cheers Andrew

They look fantastic mate, a job well done. And that UHF bracket is some good thinking.
You're right, starting to look the ducks nuts now.

All that steel work's going to pay for itself in body protection just from a trip to the next shopping centre car park...

All jokes aside, you've done an awesome job there Andrew!!! Very nice indeed!!!

Thanks guys, i am very happy with the results. It should be pretty easy to spot me now  taking the old girl for a run to the big smoke on Tuesday, then off to the high country next weekend and Canbera in a couple of weeks time, should get a few spots now that she stands out a bit more. Hoping to have one more mod fitted before i leave on the trip, just waiting for them to arrive.

                                Cheers Andrew
