Thanks cyc, have been keen on the xtra clearance but wife spends about 90% time driving it now and prefers the hardcover.. I know, bit of a softcock but happy wife, happy life... might have to look at a lift before xmas as was going to fit airbags in the back for towing anyway.

Will aftermarket tyres fit under the spare wheel cover?

Thanks Bailey, I just put on a set of P3's yesterday and you're right... defiantly wont fit.... I ordered the kaymar bracket & telescopic light so it sits a bit better on the back door as well. Has anyone seen a cover / moulding etc that will go over the larger wheel that still makes the reverse camera useable? Don't really want to just cut a hole out of a normal cover cause it will just fill with crud. Might make up a metal plate that covers just the rim with a hood for the camera - might look a bit neater at least?

I was looking for a solution for the spacer and stumbled accross this thread by AMTS. (http://www.pradopoint.com/showthread...t-Mount-Option)
If anyone wants a professional solution it may be worth a look.
I also stopped in at ARB and had a chat to a couple of the guys and they said Kaymar make one called a "Wheel on Door" bracket also.. See here: http://www.kaymar.com.au/accessories.php

Just got BFG All Terrains 265/70/R17 and it was quite a challenge to get the cover on. Had to reduce the pressure to 25 psi, then found the secret was to angle the cover so that the top clips engaged first, then lots of persuasion to get the bottom over centre clip on. Perhaps a bit of lube would have helped. Anyway, I'm with Silvo and will be taking mine off for any big trips. Has anyone tried removing the plastic shroud to improve the looks when the cover is removed?

I take my plastic cover and shroud off every big trip. I put spacers behind the spare wheel so that it stays the same distance from the car door which then allows me to fit a rubbish bag over the tyre. But you loose the reversing camera as it is now covered.
The clips into the door, that hold the shroud in place, are plastic and I think these might have to replaced after a few more excursions due to wear as they are not designed with a view to having the screws removed continuously. They still look ok but I hate renewing screws in plastic.
