My new 150 series Prado has Dunlop AT22 shoes fitted. Can anyone tell me what's the difference between these and the AT20s fitted on the 120 series? Dunlop Australia's website doesn't even mention the AT22 :!:

Re: Dunlop Grandtrek AT22 versus AT20
I did not want to start a new thread on this so thought I would just add it in here ;-)
Toyota called me today and 'warned' me about how tight the spare wheel is and that the supplied 'spanner' can't loosen it and that I should loosen it with a socket set before I go off-road as they have had some complaints.
I have not looked at it yet but will let you know what I find.
Regards
Derek
UPDATE: I have looked and it is the wheel cover retaining bolt behind the camera cover, yes it was very tight. Loosen it at home with a socket and then tighten it by hand with the Toyota 12mm spanner in the kit.Prado 150 GXL - V6 Auto, ABR-SIDEWINDER Dual battery System, Tekonsha P3, 50mm Lift kit - King Springs & Bilstein Shocks, Polyair Bags, BFG 275/65R17 Tyres, Milford Cargo Barrier, ERPS Extreme use 10 coupler rust protection, Rhino Rack, Factory Towbar, ABR-SIDEWINDER fridge/freezer, ABR-SIDEWINDER compressor and PSV deflators, Twin Drawer system, Fridge Slide, Twin 23L water tanks, 80W Solar Panel, Hot Water Shower, ARB Awning, Toyota Seat Covers, ARB Winch Bar, Warn XD9000, HID's, Snorkel .

Re: Dunlop Grandtrek AT22 versus AT20
The LC100 standard tyres where the Grandcrap AT22s on a 16inch rim. I'm thinking the difference is possibly only a speed/load rating.

Re: Dunlop Grandtrek AT22 versus AT20
My impression is that the tread is a little deeper on the AT22. I compared the tread on a Pootrol which has the AT22 and it looked a litle deeper than my AT20 :?: :?: :?: :?: :?:Greg - 08 D4D Prado,

Re: Dunlop Grandtrek AT22 versus AT20
Found this recently which I find quite funny but that could just be my sense of humour.

There is the 60,000 mile warranty. I know a few have probably had that but it seems the majority of people who persevered with the Grandcraps saw then completely scrubbed out by about 30k

Re: Dunlop Grandtrek AT22 versus AT20
I would swear I have seen different tread patterns for the Aussie AT20. I had them and a fella I work with has a newer 120 series still in the craps and his have a different tread pattern. I'll try and take a photo over the next few days (working from home today and tomorrow so I can't)Nick
