    Hi,

I have just finished installing a in dash DVD/satnav/bluetooth unit with reverse camera from an Austalian supplier for around the $680 AU mark.
It is fitted to my June 2008 model GXL and I am unsure if anyone else knows (searched P.P. couldn't find any reference to.)that the back door has camera wiring pre installed (unused plug with 4 wires), and it runs thru to an unused connector at the back of the head unit.
The catch is that they change colour somewhere thru the vehicle, but I have the colour scheme which I will post up later.
This is great because you do not have to run either power or AV leads from one end of the car to the other, because you can use what is already there.

    Cheers, Mat

The E-Bay seller I got it from is called dig_options.
The unit has been great and I discovered an added bonus with it is that it runs a WindowsCE 5 platform, which I now have mine running Ozi Explorer software in addition the the street navigation program that the unit come with (also quite good)
I will post up some photo's soon when I get some time.

Got my unit from Digoptions installed this week. Works a treat, IGO8 installed and runs Ozi no problem, all in all, a good value upgrade.
Still trying to work out how to play a DVD though, all I get is a screen saying "For safety please do not activate the Video Menu". Anyone know how to de-activate the warning, the manual is no help, it's a very poor (Quite funny in areas) translation from Chinese to Enggggggrish ). Cheers

            HI Snowy,

There should have been a wire on the back of the stereo that is used to connect to the handbrake or park selector, I cant quite remember. Its just a safety feature to stop you watching dvds when you are driving.
Anyhow, best thing to do is to just connect that to ground and it will play a DVD when you are driving (for the passenger of course), or when you are just parked.

              Hi Switched,
thanks a lot for that for that (and the quick reply), I will give it a go. I thought it might be a hidden setting menu somewhere. The units doing everything I want for now, but I might pick up a reverse camera down the track.

                    Re: Dig_Options TP09X1 GPS, Reviews & Information

The units are plug and play any auto sparky could do it for you, but I don't know about the Disc stacker if you have one, my car does not (GX).

As for installing Oziexplorer. below is a cut and paste (amended) from another post, if you are not sure check the Oziexplorer site.

Download Oziexplorer for Windows CE. From http://www.oziexplorer.com/ (go to the OziexplorerCE page)

Should be the wince_core-runtime_arm.zip it's only 3.7MB, not a big download.

Make a new folder on your desktop called Oziexplorer, then unzip the download to the folder you just created.

Copy and paste this entire folder to your Micro SD card using a card reader.

Change the default Navigation program using the settings menu from IGO8 to Oziexplorer.

Then you need to go through the menus in OZi to link it up with the GPS to get it talking to Ozi.

                    Now you need some maps.

Looks like the converted map download links on Pradopooint are dead.

You can do the following, it takes a while.

                    1. Download the .ecw file from http://www.ga.gov.au

                    2. Import to Oziexplorer (Trial version will do it)

                    3. Convert to .ozf format using the "image to .ozf tool" downloaded
from the WINCE page on the Ozi website. (Note: this takes a few hours to convert all of QLD). This process makes the two files.

Load onto the map folder in Ozi on your Micro SD card then you should be away. Hope all this helps and makes sense.
                    Snowy

                      Hi All
Had my Dig Options connected the other day with a DVB-T receiver - back tomorrow to the auto sparkie to add a RCA splitter as the unit can only run either rear camera or a DVB-T receiver. So far the unit is running well. Yet to load OziExplorerCE but have spoken to Matt at DigOptions - he emailed me the instructions on what to do - basically the same same as Snownys instructions. The amplifer is far better than the original unit, great sound, the DVD and CD work really well and impressed with the bluetooth operation with the mobile - so far their are only two minor hic-ups - the rear camera does not engage automatically if you have the radio playing and my IPOD does not work in IPOD mode (could be a cable problem) - hopefully the auto sparkie can sort of the cable problem. Addendum - One thing to follow is Shortys instructions on the wiring for the rear camera - it does work and elimiates you having to run wring from the front to the rear (if you use a auto sparkie tell him the wires are behind the original unit - the guy I used looked along the whole front of the dash for the wires). I can post Dig Options instructions on loading OziExplorer if anybody wants it.
                      Cheers Mark

I am pretty sure these things are an ETO unit. The software GPS software (IGO8) has been downloaded from the net too I notice, looking at the files on the SD card.

And also that Digoptions has dropped his price to $560 (it's always the way, cheaper after I have purchased). "Go get em boys while there hot".

If anyone has got the wiring details (or colours) for the rear camera that would be handy.

                        Cheers

Auto Electricians are limited in my area and seem to charge the earth.

What are you blokes paying for your installations?
