Are you sure about that because the N70zzl's don't come in black?

    Also!

The difference with the 4x4 over the none 4x4 is price as well as the none 4x4 being a 720 CCA instead of being a 4x4 760CCA!

The None 4x4 (N70zzl) only has a 12month warranty where as the 4x4 one has a 24month warranty as well as VR= Vibration resistant & PL = Plate-lock Construction

I'm not sure either but the OEM battery that came out of my 150 was made by Century Yuasa and had a black case. I can't recall exactly when I replaced the OEM battery but it's replacement from RACV was replaced just before the 2014 GTG with a Century Overlander (mainly because it was underpowered for winching).

The CCA (Cold Crank Amps) & RC (Reserve Capacity) does vary from the N70ZZL4WD & N70ZZL but not sure about the black battery versions unless you know the actual battery model number as the N70ZZL4WD model also has VR= Vibration resistant & PL = Plate-lock Construction.

Interesting history on the company Century & how they joined venture partners with Yuasa!

That's cool SWR, it was gxl_d4d who posted that the OEM battery was an N70zzl. My OEM battery is long gone so I can't verify the model number sorry.

The factory battery will be GS yuasa with a white case and black top. The local Toyota replacement batteries are the century batteries.

On average 7 to 8 years. The diesel was the longest at 8. I wanted to buy another one the same brand from Toyota but couldn't. Why do the original batteries last sooo much longer then replacement ones ??? The average seems to be 3 years for after market batteries. I think for memory the one in my diesel was a Panasonic ??? Not 100% on that one.... Cheers Steve

Foreign batteries last longer because of the purity of the lead. Batteries made here use alloyed lead where the lead feed stock is usually recycled lead.

The factory GS Yuasa lasted five and a half years. Replaced with an Optima. Also replaced the aux battery that also gave up after 2 to 3 years.

                    • Can any of the owners of Optima D34 batteries report on their effectiveness as a deep cycle battery for running fridges and lighting?

                      Thanks

                      • M Optima blue top seems to run the fridge and awning lights for a couple of nights. Recharging a laptop will have it running out around 6am the next morning.

                          • Hi D4D

Looking to purchase two Optima D27 batterys to replace the OEM battery and for a aux battery. With the Aux battery location I installed a piranha tray, did you install the cranking battery onto the existing battery tray supplied by Toyota and have any issues with it?

                            Cheers

                            • I got 4.5 years out of my OEM battery. It was still working okay but I noticed that the voltage was getting a lot lower after standing overnight and definitely did not want to deal with a stuffed battery while out bush. Replaced with a Century Yuasa 4WD battery.

                              • Just had to replace my original Toyota Century Yuasa battery after 1 month short of 8 years.

Rang RACQ and they fitted in my driveway a similar brand cost $215 .
