Re: Parking brake and ABS lights on

It all happened again! Could not believe it, took it into the dealer and the second stop light switch had failed within 10 days. Replaced and everything is OK again - for now.

Re: Parking brake and ABS lights on

      Hi Everyone,

Just an update on the outcome of my ABS light lighting up.
Toyota service have pinned it down to electrical interference from the lpg control module that has been attached to the drivers side inner guard after just over 2 weeks of replacing bits and pieces and constant testing.
The ABS control module is attached of the D/S inner guard where all the brake lines are coming out. The black section at the rear of this is the module and the cabling to the sensors runs at the bottom of the inner guard.
They had spoken to the tech support at Toyota HQ and were apparently advised that there was a strong possibility of electrical interference when some electrical components were installed and in my case it appears to be the LPG module. A little confused as the LPG had been installed about 2 ½ years ago and no problems.
So if you have done electrical and have installed an electrical component in or around this area be aware. It could be an expensive repair as it is NOT covered under warranty.

Looks like i have a few things to check on mine.

Doing some pretty full on tracks today and on the decent of one track i noticed both my ABS and PARK BRAKE lights are on

tried disconnecting battery but to no avail.

I can imagine abs sensor having a lot of crap on in after today but unsure why park brake light would also be on ??

          cheers.

Son's mate's Navara is way better than that. Went through a mud puddle. Jury is out on depth and velocity of transit. And when he switched the lights on to come home the brakes came on. Lights off, brakes off. Nice one Mr N.

Failed rear brake light bulbs will do it.

                    Hi all,

We've recently had the same problem with ABS/Park Brake light coming on.

While we never had it "looked at", it consistently happens shortly after we plug in a USB charger into the cigarette lighter and plug in a phone or tablet to charge.

Haven't tried ABS while the lights are on - might give it a go over the weekend.
