1998 3.4V6 Casette player

I NEED HELP.
Can anybody let me know how to get the old factory casette player out of a 1998 3.4V6 so i can put in a CD Player. PLEASE.

Kim,

You need to pull the center dash part out to get to the screws that hold the radio in there. This is not as hard as it sounds as all it taks is a good pull on the center dash, this is held in place by a series of push pins.

When I do it (I try and not do it at all) I push the air vents to face up and pull on the lower plastic parts of the vent opening and it then pops out.

You do need to give it a good hard pull for it to pop off. Once off you are able to disconnect the plugs to the other gauges and be able to remove the cassette player.

Thanks for the assistance its all good now. Now the only thing left is to install the UHF under the SONY head unit in the space where the pocket used to be.

Cassette player, i remember them....

I also recall having a brief case type thing to keep my collection of tapes safe.

Now, a thumb drive on my key chain holds about 50 of those brief cases worth of music.

I had an old 8 track unit in my first car with an adaptor to fit those new fangled cassette things
