This is a bit of a strange problem. My wife bought a new Prado a couple of weeks ago, however, we noticed that when the rear (rt) door is opened the engine cuts off one minute latter.
We had an issue with the car in that it was delivered with a badly scratched rear door (same door). The dealer offered to replace the door but we insisted on getting a new car instead. I suspect that he merely changed the door and just told us he changed the car.
Anyhow I am wondering if there is some kind of security device or module in the door that is somehow not syncing up with the rest of the car that may be causing this cut-out problem? This is assuming that the door has been changed.
Thanks for your help. BTW I live in Nigeria and the dealer would have changed the whole door, trim and all from another car, not merely the shell.
p.s. Is there any definitive way to tell for sure if the door has been changed.
Thx
