    Re: YOKO GO12 275/65/R17

My Yoko tyre dealer suggested 34psi all round for around town. When I am towing caravan I use 36psi and when loaded to the roof (literally) with camping gear I use around 44psi on the blacktop.

            Re: YOKO GO12 275/65/R17

Anyone got any further updates on these tyres?

It's time to change the D694s that were on the Grande when I purchased it, and BFG ATs are out as there are none available in the country (in either 265/65R17 or 275/65R17). I'm also limited to the 275/65R17 size as the 265/70R17 requires an engineers report to retain the vehicles roadworthiness (and thus insurance) and I'm not prepared to risk having my insurance voided if I need t omake a big claim - just got a quote for the engineering, $400 + GST for the certificate, plus another $200 + GST for the GPS check for speedo accuracy. Adding $660 to a new set of 5 tyres is not on the cards at present, so that rules out the 265/70s. (And of course the ATZ 4 ribs I had decided on aren't available in 265/65 or 275/65....)

My choices at present are the GO12, D694 or the AT3 (Toyo also do an AT in this size but I'm not really looking at that). Effectively, the D694s on the vehicle have worked OK, however I consider the tread pattern of them (and the AT3s) to be much closer to an HT than an AT, so I'm left with the GO12 which seems to be the more agressive of the options. I had MTZs on my old 80 series and loved them, however I don't need to go so agressive as an MT style tyre this time around.

So, all the reports I have read (here and elsewhere) of the GO12 are pretty good, but any further comments would be appreciated.

Still a big fan of mine. They went hard through the gtg and very happy with them in my limited experience on sand.

Still very happy with the way mine are performing also. Still wearing very even at 32km and nearly half wear, so I'm figuring a pretty good minimum 60-65k for not lightly driven.
Verdict = Would definately buy them again.

                  Re: YOKO GO12 275/65/R17

                  Got them fitted today.

Only done about 15kms on the mso far, so the only thing that has shown up is that one of the clip-thingys holding the plastic wheel arch liner on the front drivers side in place is missing so the tyre rubs at full lock. Easy enough to fix.......

Otherwise, turn-in definitely seems sharper that it was. No noisier than the D694s. Having only reset the trip computer about 50kms ago when I last filled up, I've noted a change in the consumption being reported already though (up 1L/100km). (Edit 13/12 - consumption seems to have evened out a bit now - sitting around 0.5L/100km higher than before).

Mine are about 60k, and will need some new ones in next 10k. Am happy with them (and their punction warrenty that I had to use), so what prices are people getting at the moment?, I got one quote at $350 in rockhampton, but will ring around some more when floods come down. This seems quite high, since I brought them for $305 a while ago, but I guess all tyre prices have gone up. was quote $360 for D964LT in this size.

                            Still very happy with these.

Trip to Stockton Beach over the weekend left me very impressed with their abilities on sand as well.

I'm really after a set of these in 275/65R17 as these are probably the best compromise between off and on-road use.
Unfortunately there seem to be none in Australia. Zero. For about three months...

I'd like to be proven wrong...

anyone heard of stocks of these anywhere?
                              Rob.
