I should start producing them!! looks like a $100 (or so) in materials, 2-3 hours to fabricate them, $150-225... so $325 all up. Call it $400-450 inc powder coating. Hmmmm ...... could be a good side line...

with my 2007 d4d GXL, do I have side airbags...... cause the manuals tend to cover all models dont they...
Is there a way of deactivating the airbags before going bushwalking easy as a fuse being taken out ? Sorry for the nub question.
with my 2007 d4d GXL, do I have side airbags......
If you do have the airbags, there will be a little sign on the A pillar just near the grab handle, and also on the C pillar, that says 'SRS Curtain Airbag' or something similar. You'll also have the little tag on the side of the front seats that says the same. They were part of one of the option packs that were introduced sometime in 2007, so you may well have them.
Hi, is there any follow up/update on this subject? I just lost one side step during my recent trip and planning to install after market sliders instead.
I was reading about potential impact of sliders on side air bags (which I have in my car) and I have second thoughts...
any advise? did you install sliders in your Prados equipped with side airbags?
I saw a 200 series the other day which had steel side steps and side bars. I thought that all 200's had side airbags and sure enough they do according to the Spec sheet from Toyota. I then checked TJM's brochure and it offers two types of side steps, the 3/4 side bars and steps and the outback steel. Both are noted as being "Side airbag compatible". Wonder what you have to do to make the steps "compatible". Mind you it would not be good to bounce the step off a rock and have the airbags go off...........
