  • And to go off that, I had the same when I was driving my m135... A proper sports car with proper m sports brakes... If you drive like a racer I assume you know what you're following... Nope, still had the magnetic force of twats behind me. If I even touched the brake they'd be up my arse with a massive insurance payout.

          • On Tuesday night, I contacted my phone service provider to inquire about re-contracting three mobile phones that were on my account. I asked about a current offer they had just added to their website. The representative then asked me to point out where I saw the offer. I said on his company's website.

            The representative then asked me to send me the link to his company's website. I asked if he was serious.

            I pointed out that there was a 'click this link' button to chat about the offer and this is how I was connected to him.

            He said that he did not know about the offer and wanted me to show him the link to prove what I was saying. He then said that he re-checked and there was no such offer. I sent him the direct link and offered to send a screen shot. He then agreed that there was such an offer but it only applied to new services.

            As my mobile phones were out of contract, I said that unless I found a competitive offer, I would go elsewhere. I asked if he wanted me to cancel my services so then I could re-join as a new customer to access the offer? He said No, he can't do that. I said would he match the offer to retain the services. No.

            So I advised that I was going to walk into another competitors store the next morning to port my services across to them. I advised that unless they could match the offer, they would lose my service. The representative said he couldn't help me.

            The irony of all this is that I had only originally contacted Telstra to inquiry about re-contracting my services for another 12-24 months. Instead, as a result of their poor customer service and failure to understand their customers needs (or listen to what I was saying), the inquiry resulted in my three services instead being ported to another provider.

            The customer rep later sent me an email and, I kid you not, that said "Thanks for your time today. I trust I've addressed everything required.

            If you want to chat to me again, you can reach me directly here".

            Patronising and incompetent.

            Post script... today I re-contacted Telstra again this time to inquire about the remainder of my services (home, internet and two other mobiles). Guess what... the company said No when I asked if they could offer something competitive, or were willing to make an offer to keep my accounts with them.

            So I will soon be a customer with a new company who had both the desire and ability to say Yes when it came to offering me customer service and competitive packages to suit my needs.

            Well done Telstra. For a communications company, it's ironic that your customer service representatives have a difficult in hearing to what your clients are saying to you.

            • Unfortunately out this end of the world Telstra is still the only service provider for a great chunk of rural WA. I've been into the shop twice this year: the first time I walked out paying half what I used to for my mobile phone service and then I cut my wifi hot spot internet service in half, they gave me a new 4G plus device and added some free Gbs saving me about $50 per month.

                Yes, that's why I had been with Telstra for many, many years beforehand. But in my current situation, I fortunately have a few other options. So bye bye Telstra for a while.

                • I had a call from Telstra, it was a young lad in Queensland. After doing the deal he asked me to rate his service. I declined as I wanted to wait until the new deal kicked in. About 4 weeks later my service hadn't changed and I then went into the shop. My new "deal" was on the computer "actualizing" which meant that it was going no-where. I always go into the shop now and don't want to talk to the sales people via phone.

                          • Young kids begging outside shopping centres. What's with this young generation? The other day some pimply faced 12 year old fronts me and asks for ciggies. I don't smoke so nick off. Today I get harassed by a couple of 10 year olds asking for a couple of bucks so they can catch a bus home. One was on a bike and the other on a little scooter. I decline and keep an eye on them. A few minutes later they emerge from Woollies with bottles of coke in shopping bags. So, you have money for coke but not for the bus. Time to move in as they approach and old lady near the ATM. Buzz off you pair of ferals before I kick you in the rear end.

                              • So I go into Telstra shop to report that they've been charging me $50 a month for a service I no longer have. I upgraded my 4G mobile hot spot and renewed the plan. They gave me a new device and dropped the monthly cost. Then I discover that the old service hasn't been cancelled. Initially the sales girl was quite helpful, making several calls and finally announcing okay that service will be shut down within 24 hours and you will no longer be charged for it. Great, but what about my refund? Oh, you'll have to complain to Telstra. I thought that was what I was doing. No, you can't do that here you have to go to Telstra. Where are they? Oh, just ring up. Crap I say. I want to speak to the manager. Floor manager finally comes out, spends 10 seconds on the computer and says all fixed, you'll get a credit of $150 on your next bill. I say why couldn't the sales girl do that and save us all the grief? Oh she doesn't have access. I say why couldn't she get you then to flick the switch? They have absolutely no idea of customer service.
