    • Used a router and cut a 5mm groove in the middle of the ply board and then used d mould ( I think that's what its called) I got it from a local cabinet maker. It worked well as I could glue the carpet passed the edge and then trim it before installing the d mould

      • Has anyone tried mounting things on the underside of the table?

was thinking about mounting a small axe but would probably need to make the whole design a bit sturdier?

        • I finally got around to making one of these tables!
Just a light weight one made from a bit of alu/plastic composite board I had laying around.
          Can't we just keep travelling?

              • Made mine over xmas. Lacquered 12mm ply with marine carpet on the back. Used luggage straps from Supercheap. Cut them in half so I could adjust the angle if required. Also meant installing was easier without worrying about the level of the table, which is now adjustable. Hinges are stainless from BCF. Backed with aluminium plate and secured with nylock nuts. The straps were attached to pine cutoffs. They were screwed in place with the straps wrapped around (and secured with screws). Then the loop knob things were screwed though the door trim, pine and into the metal of the door it self. Everything was measured, set up, and measured again to get strap, hinge and knob placement correct. Took a couple of days (waiting for glue, lacquer etc) and a few more beers but well worth it. Now I plan to install a light overhead so the lovely wife doesn't accidently give me one of the kids plates for dinner.
