Turned out to be a very cost effective table thats for sure. It cost us around $50 per table to build and install complete. Although I managed to get a hold of some ply for nix, it would have probably only added an extra $10 max.

It was very easy to install with the hardest part glueing the carpet to the ply. Everything else was pretty striaght forward.

All the parts were bought from BCF except the ply. You'll need:
        • 2 x bungy loops
 4 x plastic posts (to stow the table with the bungy loops and for the tea towel holder)
 2 x good quality plastic hinges
 Approx 2m bungy cord (8mm)
          Approx 2m nylon webbing
 350g can of contact adhesive
          15mm ply 900mm x 500mm
          Approx 1m marine carpet
 Assorted screws (Some extra long ones for the top posts, will give more details soon)
 We ended up using a 50mm2 crimp link to join the bungy/shock cord... It was a little too big, so a 35mm2 link should be sufficient. It's probably not the best option if you don't have access to the crimpers.

(Where I've said approx, I could only buy it by the meter)

        A couple of tips:

When cutting out the carpet for the top, cut it around 20mm wider than the actual ply. Cut a square out of each corner to get a nice finish on the corners. When you cut out the bottom of the table, make it thesame size as the actual table so that it fits in nice and neat with an even finish all the way around. (Joeys idea here)

Make sure when you install the hinges and the posts at the top of the table that you drill right through into the steel of the door otherwise you won't have a strong table and would probably just rip out or rip the door trim off when you put something heavy on it. When you drill through the top of the door there's about an inch of fresh air between the plastic trim and the steel door skin.

As you can see it's pretty strong with Joey's beautiful young girl playing on the table without a hint of strain from the table / supports and fixings (and joey worrying about the little one hittin the deck).

I've still got to through mine together so I'll try to be a bit more in depth with the complete steps. We ran out of glue so I'll get mine done tomorrow hopefully.

Sure beats paying around $200 for other similar tables on the market!

A big thanks to Joey for being the guinea pig and support crew!

        Cheers,

        Crammy

Joey, I've noticed that Chippy and someone else also have that loop of shock cord or something on the underneath of the table.
What is the purpose of this?

Hey dobbo, the shock cord is to hang a tea towel or what ever you want from it.

I've been meaning to change mine over from chains to the webbing for some time now! how'd you secure it (the webbing) on the door and table?

edit: sorry on closer inspection i missed the photo that shows it there with a screw through it. did you re-inforce?

Here's mine, for my 90 series though. Almost exactly the same as the one shown above, except I split mine in two so I can have one or both halves down. I did this so I could have the right hand side roller drawer open and still use half of the table.
