Cracked dashboard

Johno they all crack from 03 to 09. Toyota changed nothing. The older they get the more you will see on here later models cracking and being posted on here. Some are worse then others some depends on how their been treated eg mine is an 05 garaged all its life, dashmat, sun cover on windscreen when parked outside mine still cracked just recently, one crack so far. I have seen 07's with crack starting around instrument cluster (speedo) cost wise your looking at approx 2k to drive in drive out of Toyota for a replacement. It's not a matter of will it crack, it's a matter of when it will crack. When I rang Toyota for a quote just on the dash pad for mine there was no change in part number or superseded part number, just different part numbers depending on colour.....cheers Steve

any why pay $2k for the same shit that will crack again after time, just wasting money. Get the biggest dash mat you can and try and hide it like I have. Think of it as adding character

Interesting Andrew. I have taken a snap shot of the screen of those part numbers. Will be enquiring as to what the difference is between the part numbers but in the same colour (mines classed as black) Usually they always ask me for my chassis number only he didn't..... Cheers Steve

My dealer couldn't tell me what the differences were. One can only assume ...

You can add mine to the list, started about 4 weeks ago with a couple of long cracks along the top surface and around the gauges.

My 2007 dash has cracked. Grand Toyota Wangara has advised Toyota will supply a new dash, they are charging $1320 Labor to fit ($165/hr @ 8 hrs). They will not supply the dash only for me to have it fitted elsewhere. Anyone out there have any experience with the Wangara branch - sounds a bit steep to me, given other Toyota dealers seem to have charged around $600.

I have been reading this thread for sometime..............and thinking you poor buggers.Then bang yesterday , a crack appeared above the instrument panel .Now I join the list .

Cracked dashboard

My old man had some cracks on his so as soon as we bought ours , a dash mat was one of the first things we got. No dramas now

Well add me to the list of the cracked dash.
Both across,the instrument panel and above glove box.
Have yet to talk to my Toyota dealership but will quote other dealerships will provide new mat. If not too expensive might do it.
More likely to just put on a dash cover.
On that, from the wealth of experience here which is the on which fits best as well as looks as good a possible. Wife is more into looks than function ( on eveything:???

Yes there is.
Speak to Morpheus Ubique (not sure if I spelled that right) aka Jason in Parts. Tell him you're from PradoPoint and see what price he can give you.
Then go to service and ask them the fitting cost.
Or do it yourself after reading the tutorial by Willem

I called Ballina Toyota in NSW today to get an up to date quote on removing and replacing a dash. The quote: 2.4 hrs labor at a total cost of $303.60c. This was from a cold call with no negotiation.
Grand Toyota Wangara have generously revised their initial quote from 8 hrs at $165/hr to 8 hrs @ $128/hr ie $1320 down to $1024 take it or leave it.
Midland Toyota quoted 10 hrs @ $148.50 / hr = $1485 !!!
I'm speechless........
