      1) When you are on the way home from a good day out, and coming home on unfamiliar roads, its probably a good idea to listen to your wife and grab the street directory, rather than respond with "no worries babe, I know where we are going" ops:

      2) Dont watch the Tour De France and think you might still look good in lycra

Re: What Did You Learn Today?

That today's teenagers have no concept of attention to detail.

Spent 2 days detailing the old 98 Prado in preparation of selling her to get the 18 year old a ute of some description - he wants a ute as he is doing a carpentry apprenticeship and hopes to pick up a job this year in the building industry. Apparently the V6 Prado is a bit expensive to drive around the city.

So, I said he had to help me clean the old girl if he wanted something out of it. Well, I ended up doing 90% of the job myself. There was 11 years worth of red dust in all sorts of hidden places. I got sick of saying "attention to detail" - it just goes in one ear and out the other.

I'll be sad to seee her go, she has been a trusty steed with no issues in nearly 200,000km.

If you wanna keep the outlaws happy by having your children baptised make sure you get the baptism done before the child can talk . I had my 2 yr old baptised yesterday and she looked the priest straight in the eyes and and on the top of her voice she said " I HATE YOU , YOU WET MY DRESS " I could not say anything to my daughter as I bursted out in laughter amd had to run out of the church . Looks like I didnt make the outlaws happy after all

It seems no matter what you do to reduce the chance of treated pine sleepers from warping, they will do so either before you get a chance to bolt them down or after you bolt them down. They also will shrink to by about 1-2cm over a 3 metre length, spilting the timber post used to support them.

The timber I was using was the H4 3m x 200mm x 50mm treated pine. I also had a look today at the 75mm stuff & it was already warped at the store!

The only sleepers I have that are close to staying straight are 3m lengths with supporting post at either end & in the middle - all concreted in. The next garden will either have a new design to allow for the shrinkage by covering up the join points but not holding the timber with bolts so it can 'move' or be concrete sleepers
