ARB winch bar

Thanks Jusso. I would do if I could cause that is way easier however after doing a bit of research through threads on recovery points it doesn't seem I can fit aftermarket ones with an ARB winch bar. Gumboot has done a bit of study on this and the early 120's with the tie down loop welded under the chassis can accept these points and the later 120's with the loop welded through the chassis can't hence strengthening the welds and adding gussets as a few others have done is the next best option for me.

Thanks Matt, it's getting there. I look forward to seeing a more up to date pic of yours in your thread as the latest one is missing quite a few things from your signature.

Pity about all those strange little changes they make along the way. Saying it's a 120 isn't quite enough it seems.
You are right, my tie down points are welded underneath the chassis.

Are you serious! How soon? I removed all my ARB stone guards and loosened the bolts on one side last night and by then was getting late so that's as far as I got. (Was procrastinating a little about dropping this nut in the chassis). Should I pull up stumps on this project and wait for these? I am interested to see how they will make them fit.

I think he is Matt. He posted a pic a while ago of one that looked a bit different. More like a triangle. I've only seen that style once before

Hi Andrew , are you making one to replace the ARB bar impact absorber with the loops? Or is something that will bolt on around this somehow? Can you send me the link please?

The point will go around the ARB bullbar bracket.

Have you had a chance to try this on a post 2006 120 ? There is a 1 inch flat piece of steel that sits out preventing regular points being mounted flush. Do yours fit around these. Sorry I'm a bit confused .

Yes, there is a notch that goes around it.

Wow I'm very interested . You may have solved a problem for many of us out Here. It's a shame ARB aren't interested in a solution. I rang them recently and asked why if I had rated recovery points on my vehicle and then installed an ARB bar I would have to forfeit these. I was told the loops are for towing and winching only and not being able to mount aftermarket recovery points was a Toyota design fault. I realise with a bridle and a careful snatch these would probably be ok but for the extra piece mind I will be going for something stronger . Well done AMTS for taking the initiative to solve this problem for so many
