Well I have returned from getting my front springs replaced under warranty.
They replaced them no worries and when I got back from my other chores I found the Prado on the hoist getting its wheels aligned. so had a look under her skirts.
They swapped the springs for not what I had originally but for a slightly heavier duty spring. Still Lovells.

I asked about the stone guard for the Billies and they hadn't heard of them.
They found them in their cattledog for $50 each. Not bad at that price, Might have a look at knocking some up myself though.

So I drove there with 510mm front and came home with 560mm.
That's steel bar with the lot. winch, batteries, spotties.
Laughin. It looks normal again. planning on a club trip this weekend to test it out.
    Hope the weather clears up

Jeff - any more info on these stone guards - are they the ones that protect the lower mount on the rear shocks?

        Hi Drew.

yes they are. I mentioned how the bottom of the rear shock gets peppered, And how I heard bilstien sell guards.
But he did mention they are pretty heavy in the side wall, But as XVPrado mentioned in another thread, they can get dented, and as a mono tube design, it impacts the piston seals directly. causing failure of a shock.

I think I'll wip some up.

I wonder if we are talking about the same thing?

          Here's what I'm referring to:

They don't look like they'd protect the entire tube though - but I guess the lower section is the most vulnerable.

            Hi Drew.

Yes thats what I was thinking about.
The damage Im seeing is only about the lower 4-6".

Hmm $50 each sounds a bit expensive

I was thinking that maybe something that they use to protect the forks on dirt bikes might be able to be used?

                That's a great idea Bryce.

Can't wait to see the photos!

I wonder if they sell a bunch of different sizes to choose the most appropriate from.

But wouldnt those be a bit week to stand up to the punishment.
Thats if your talking about the guards that look like

                  or something a bit stronger

I think the top ones would be a lot easier to fit than the bottom ones.

I might go to my local dirt bike shop and have a squizz.

                      Hi Justo, Hows it going.

                      What is your suspension?
I notice its Kings but are they 2"HD or HD normal ride height
And you rear, Kings as well or still standard?

                      Thanks.
                      Jeff.
Good thanks mate, how's yourself? Good to hear your springs have been replaced.
I'm pretty sure when I purchased the fronts they called them standard rate 2" raised springs. I was a bit worried about HD springs after some of the stories of cracks appearing! As for the rear its the standard Grande airbags which I haven't modified. And I'm sure it wouldn't be cheap to mod either.!

Jeff S, the bottom ones are the ones I was thinking off. Maybe not in carbon fibre though!

I think they make them in plain old plastic as well. Not sure how they hold one but I guess a couple of hose clamps would work fine.
