  • I've also done this mod about 2000ks ago and there really is a huge difference between the jets and the old washers. I notice it more when driving at night cause it leaves less crud/steaking on the windscreen reducing glare from oncomming traffic.

Part number is: 85381-0K010 - all you need is two of these, no clips if you follow the instructions in this thread for replacement.

        • Picked up a set of these today from my local toyota dealer... i went in there and was all like "i've written this part number forr some wiper jets things on a piece of paper here somewhere" and he was all like "85381-0K010" and gave me a big smile.... told me he put them on his ute or something recently and they blew his mind... looking forward to chucking them on the prado... alas my bonnet gets resprayed in a couple of days... so i don't want to put them on *just yet* ....have to drive from darwin to perth in a couple of weeks, so looking forward to checking out just how much better these things are!

          • I was searching through and trying to find the page on the easiest way to do this, it might be there it might not?? Anyway I thought I'd share how I did it for those not sure.

To start off you only need two tools, your Toyota pliers from your tool kit in the door and a small electrical screw driver flat head.

I bought my washer jets from Toyota in Darwin, lucky me I got a parts interpreter who used to work at the Holden dealer when I was a parts picker as a young lad. So $22 washer jets for me, maybe its the going rate but they showed up on the computer at $30 plus when he first looked them up.

Anway grab your pliers, put them east west of the car over the old washer nozzle and lift it slightly, slide the screw driver in on the front of the nozzle so you push the plastic clip in, you will then find the front pops out, then repeat this at the opposite end and you have them out.

            • I then used the pliers to hold the rubber hose while I twisted off the old nozzle, put the new one on and pushed them back in.. Done in less than 10minutes as well as taking photo's and no need to pop the bonnet and play with the bonnet clips or sound deadener...

              Old V new

You can see here the direction the hose wants to push the washer jets out.

                • I have just done the conversion on my Prado. I love the way the whole windscreen gets showered with water - This has to be the best budget mod so far.

                  • Just did mine. Took about 30 seconds per side to swap out. Used a nylon tool called a "chicken stick" (from my autoglass days) instead of a screwdriver, as nylon does not scratch paint (and I have been known to be clumsy around paint ).

                    • Swapped mine out. Very clear instructions Playdoh! Great mod, not sure why they didn't use these jets in the first place rather than the rubbish ones the Prado has.

                        • Question: Just bought two of these, but the parts are both marked as RH (right hand side) and the little hole for the jet, is offset to the one side. Does it make a difference whether you put two RH ones on, or should I get a LH one instead?

They should both be marked RH. I think it's Right Hand Drive as opposed to Left Hand Drive rather than left and right side.

                            • Well, I got mine yesterday and took less than 5 minutes to fit them using a large cable tie as described here. All I can say is everyone was right about how much better they are than the standard Prado ones.
