I found I was gathering a few relays under the bonnet and wanted to tidy the whole lot up a bit. One $6 Jiffy box from Dick Smiths, a pair of torneau cover clips and a bit of steel angle was all it took.
The angle bracket is offset to allow the Jiffy box to tuck in, a little, under the side lip. It won't completely tuck in there as there's a heap of wire bundles hiding behind it.
Four 13mm holes in the bottom of the Jiffy box provide heaps of space for the necessary wires to get to the relays.
NO - it's not a waterproof solution - and wasn't intended to be. I just wanted to keep most of the mud, some spray during shallow crossings, bug guts and crap off the relays and have the whole lot look a bit neater.
There's 2 spare relays in there - one is for the compressor - and the other one is there because I had one and there was space for it.
I didn't feel like fiddling around with those tiny little screws that hold Jiffy box lids shut so ..
While I was there I re-routed a bit of the split tubing jungle that was accumulating on the firewall. It looks a lot neater now ...
.. and finally had a play with the switch layout inside ...
Those Repco switches look neat. The one to the right of the mirror switch is for the compressor - just a pity it doesn't have a little pic of a compressor on it
Cheers
