    Hi

Thanks I have read that. It seems everyone uses Rotronics. Is it that good so no one else is using a different system?

        Siukalo,
I had a Redarc in L/C and it worked well for the second battery , which powered my Waeco and was linked to battery in van via Anderson Plugs.

If you go down that track make sure you get the latest version 13.2v as per Redarc's Autumn 2007 Newsletter which states (p 4)
        Voltage Changes
        to our SBI12 SmartStart
In our Winter 2006 Newsletter, we reported that we
had numerous inquiries about problems experienced
when installing SBI12 SmartStart Solenoids in vehicles
such as the Toyota 100 Series Landcruiser V8 4WD.
The complaint was that the second battery isn’t being
charged as a result of the Smart Start not switching
because the 100 Series Alternator is not reaching the
required 13.6 volts. The alternator field circuit is
controlled by the engine ECU and it seems that it is
not allowing the voltage to rise above 13.5V. We
have since received information from the field that this
situation exists in a number of other vehicles including
        Toyota, Ford & Hyundai.
Therefore from the 1st February 2007 we have
modified all 12V models being produced so they
activate at 13.2 Volts bringing the auxiliary battery into
the charging circuit. REDARC also reset the Smart
Start turn off voltage to 12.5 volts. With these new
settings the installation will work a treat. The Redarc
Part Number for the SmartStart will remain the same,
        i.e. SBI12.
What are you going to use the second battery for?

          Hi

I be using the battery for powering my stereo and a fridge. Goona run it with a 300w sinewave inverter is well. Does anyone know once you drain the battery, approximately how long does it take to recharge it back?
          Thanks

            Alan,
A site that will answer most of your questions, and covers what happens if you run battery too low , is

            http://www.fridge-and-solar.net/dual_bat.htm

The author (Mr Val) knows his facts and fortunately for me lives on the Gold Coast.
He is competive with his prices and can arrange delivery to interstate address' , in his words "its cheaper than you think".

I purchase all my gear through him , and will be fitting an 80a AGM Fullriver under bonnet when I get the vehicle.
Previously had the 120a in back of L/C but it won't fit under bonnet in Prado.
Will also be buying the necessary cable,Redarc with momentary rocker switch (use aux if cranking goes flat) and Anderson plugs.

Alan,I don't own shares in business but am a satisfied customer.
