Most likely comes down to personal peference cos i'm sure they offer the same level of light, but what shape spotties do those of you with lights have? which do you think looks better? and have people got pics?

Spotties Round or Square

I spent a lot of time agonising over spotties (gotta get our priorities right!).
Not being the lighting Einstein myself, I understand that round is always better, as it puts out more light than an equivalent rectangular light.
As for aesthetics, that's another discussion and it all comes down to what you prefer - each to their own, I say...

I'm going through this process at the moment as well.
What shape, brand etc.
If I had no issues, I would go straight with the Lightforce XGT. However I have an issue.
I don't want to pay $450 for a set of spotties to have them protrudung in front of the bullbar (sovereign) so that if I'm ever in an accident, be it with a buffalo, a brick wall, or a truck...........no matter how serious the impact.........these will be the first point of contact.
For this reason I have sat a set of lightforce 170's in the bar and they sit in there very nicely but are about 1/2 the power of the the 240's, so am swaying towards the 170's for protection, but therefore have to compromise on performance.
Does anyone else have recommendations of other lights that sit within the extremities of the sovereign bar that perform well, and I can make my own decision as to the asthetics of them.
Cheers, rhet

No I haven't fitted anything yet. I just sat the 170's in there and they looked pretty good a filled the area quite well without looking too much.
I think that the 240's whether they are blitz's or XGT's, look too big for the bar/front end, but their performance outweighs that concern.
I realise that a decent smash is going to ruin the whole front end regardless, I'm thinking more along the lines of a brick wall at a shopping centre etc (my missus drives this as well) It would be a shame to scratch/crack a light from such a harmless incident.

Unfortunately I don't have the Sovereign bar, but the overbumper bullbar - the 240's did not fit as well as they do on the Sovereign...

Hi McBAIN.
Have you looked at the IPF range?.
I have the IPF 900XS.
Round, 1 spot 1 spread.
Last weekend I had to run home at night through some backroads that were unfamiliar to me.
With the one spot you only need a small curve in the road and you are lighting up trees.
Rung up ARB in town and they are looking at geting me another spot to replace the spread..
they call them a pencil beam and they are very straight in the light beam.
At say 200m they one spot lights up just either side of a contry road well.
The spread is good but that night I really wanted more at the further distance..
JeffReminds me of my safari in Africa. Somebody forgot the corkscrew and for several days we had to live on nothing but food and water.
