Hiclones

Hi, new to this site and just picked up a 2000 3.4 gxl. So far I couldn't be happier. whilst in the process of adding some goodies to the truck, I'm thinking about fitting Hiclones and was wondering if anyone had opinions on them, good or bad?

I tried am in patrol 4.2 petrol and actually got better fuel economy without them fitted, My mate tried them in rodeo and didn't notice any difference either. They do offer full money back so it didn't cost us a cent to try them out. But thats not saying they won't work in your rig good luck tell us how they went if you buy them.

I'm not sure if you have Mythbusters on TV down there. It is a show that takes urban legends, and product claims and used scientific method to prove or disprove them.

This item was tested and found not to work or give any advantage.

Think of it. If it did Toyota, GM, Ford & BMW would have them on all vehicles produced.

The conspiracy theorist in me says ... "Would they ??"

The Prado already has a pre-spinner built into the first stage of the air intake ... its designed to spin out any of the heavier dust particles and drop then into the dust trap ... but it has the same effect of getting the air to spin ... only to ram headfirst into an airfilter built like the side of a barn and a screen filter behind that ..... methinks the spinning will have lost its effect by them :wink:
